Maharashtra man attacked by shark while fishing in Palghar, Vaitarna river,
The victim had gone for fishing with some people on Tuesday near the Vaitarna river when he was attacked by the shark. He sustained severe injuries in the incident.
Palghar: In a horrifying incident, a man in Maharashtra’s Palghar district was attacked by a shark while he was fishing. The incident took place on Tuesday near the Vaitarna River. The 34-year-old man suffered severe injuries in his left leg. The victim, a resident of a village in Palghar, is presently undergoing treatment at a hospital.
According to police, the incident took place at 6.30 pm on Wednesday when the victim had gone near the river to catch fish. The bite on his leg is reportedly four inches deep. The forest officials have also launched a probe to ascertain the cause of the shark’s death.
The victim was immediately rushed to a hospital in Manor after he fell unconscious due to excessive loss of blood. He was later shifted to a government hospital. The man survived the deadly attack but almost half his leg below the left knee was ripped off by the shark. Following the incident, some locals gathered near the shore and caught the shark using a net, which later died.
The victim, identified as Vicky Suresh Gowari, had gone for fishing on Tuesday near the Vaitarna river, which flows through the Nashik and Palghar districts. As Vicky entered the bay with a group of people, a shark bit his leg, leaving him serious injured.
