Jatayu was with Dharma and Bhishma Pitamah was with Adharma.
- Counting his last breaths, Jatayu said that I knew that I could not win over Ravana, yet I fought, if I did not fight, future generations would call me a coward.
- At the last moment, Jatayu got a bed in the lap of Lord "Shri Ram". But Bhishma Pitamah got a bed of arrows while dying. Jatayu is sacrificing his life on the bed of God's lap in the last time on the strength of his deeds, Lord is in the shelter of "Shri Ram" and Bhishma Pitamah is crying lying on the arrows.
- Such a difference is because Bhishma Pitamah had seen Draupadi being cheerharan in the full court. Could not resist and remained silent. But Draupadi kept crying, sobbing, screaming. But Bhishma Pitamah kept sitting with his head bowed, could not protect the woman. The result of this was that even after getting the boon of death, he got a bed of arrows. Jatayu respected women, sacrificed his life, then at the time of death he got the bed of Lord Shri Ram's lap.
Those who close their eyes even after seeing wrong happening with others. His speed is like that of Bhishma.
One who fights for others knowing the consequences, his greatness is celebrated like that of Jatayu.
That's why one should always oppose the wrong. "Truth is troubled, but not defeated."
