HOW TO EXPRESS YOURSELF BETTER



1. Share your feelings.

- Dont bottle up all your feelings inside usually we hide anger.

- It leaves you disappointed and unhappy.

- Open up your feelings to a person who is close to you.

- It makes you happy and stay healthy.

2. Dont shy away from expressing your opinions.

- In any conversations dont take a step back to express yourself

- "I think...", "I believe...", use the words and share your opinions, it can be right or wrong.

- But, knowing your opinion is what people will need.

3. Expand your vocabulary.

- Large general vocabulary helps you to express yourself better

- It's because you have more words to describe the way they feel about certain things or events

- It broadens your possibilities of expression, which in turn makes your thoughts clearer

4. Check your facial expressions.

- Pay attention to how your face feels when you look happy, thoughtful, disgusted, sad, worried, suspicious, or surprised.

- Experiment with them. with practice, you'll be able to choose what kind of emotion you want to display.

5. Make eye contact.

- Eye contact builds a sense of mutual trust. It tells others how you feel.

- If you look away from someone, they assume you aren't very interested in talking to them.

- At times, you might feel better when you open up walking side by side.

6. Hand gestures.

- Practice hand gestures in a mirror until they feel natural to you

- Notice how socially skilled people use their hands, try to pick up some gestures to try for yourself

- Keep your movements smooth and Don't overdo it

7. Avoid plain tone when you talk.

- Implement some ranging tones and pitches into your voice.

- At times, it's not what you say but how you say it matters.

- If your words carry no emphasis, alter the tone and expression for each sentence.

8. Belive in yourself.

- You should be very confident to be more expressive.

- Be confident about yourself. Take baby steps each day and appreciate yourself for your progress.

- This boosts your confidence greatly. Surround yourself with people who support and encourage you.

9. Be honest when you can't find the right words

- There might be times when you cannot express how you feel. Take few minutes to process your feelings

- Using phrases like below during such situations

- I need a few minutes outside to clear my head. I'll be back soon
