1. Chasing dopamine
If you live your life chasing a high, you will never be happy.
You will be addicted to whatever gives you satisfaction e.g drugs, alcohol, sex, and excess social media use.
Invest in the good kind of dopamine addiction, the kind you get from working out.
2. Forcing incompetence
People like to say "I suck at math" or "I suck at languages.
Just because you're not naturally gifted in an area doesn't mean you'll never be able to learn those skills.
Try different ways of learning something before you throw in the towel.
3. Being risk aversive
It can be easy to avoid risks and fall into your comfort zone.
The biggest risk in life is not to take one.
Don't let life pass you by and regret that you didn't do something later in life.
Take a leap of faith and enjoy the highs and lows of life.
4. Mindset of victimhood
If you constantly blame others for your failures in life you'll never grow.
Some circumstances may be out of your control due to timing and outside forces.
There is no point directing anger on others, you are the master of your life.
5. Multitasking
We all like to think we can multitask...
But multitasking is actually less productive than focusing on one task at a time because you'll make more mistakes which is counterproductive.
Break the habit of multitasking and the quality of your work will improve.
6. Perfectionism
Thinking "if it's not perfectly done, then what the point of even doing it" is destructive.
You'll lose motivation and waste time on unnecessary tasks trying to find reasons why "it" should always be perfect.
Don't let this get in the way of your goals.
7. Neglecting self-care
Take care of your body, mind, and spirit.
Focus on your diet, get a good night's sleep, drink enough water, and sunlight, and exercise.
Don't work yourself until you're burned out.
Your life depends on it.
8. Fearful mindset
Thinking about the worst possible outcomes when making decisions or taking not risks is no way to live.
It's difficult to achieve anything worthwhile with a pessimistic view of life.
Everything begins in the mind and then manifests itself outside.
