1. Track your time
It is a game changer.
If you don't understand why you "never have any time", track it and find out.
2. Plan your MIT
MIT = Most Important Thing.
Your MIT is the ONE thing that will make everything else easier or unnecessary.
Step 1 - Identify your MIT.
Step 2 - Schedule it.
Step 3 - Do it.
3. Define the end of your day
When you plan your day, also decide when it ends.
Parkinson's Law states work expands to fill the time available to complete it.
A strict end time forces flow and focus.
4. Become hard to reach
• Check your email less.
• Don't text back right away.
• Wait on that DM.
Most people don't need YOU to solve their problem, they are just looking for SOMEONE to do it.
5. Remove distractions
It takes 23 minutes to refocus after an interruption.
When you are focused and working, you should NEVER see:
• Email notifications.
• Text messages.
• Slack bubbles.
6. Say "No" more
The most productive word in the English language is "No"
Learn to say it.
7. Learn to use leverage
Make a big list of every single thing you do in your business. Everything.
For each task, can you?
• Automate: Find an app to do it
• Delegate: Find a person to do it
• Eliminate: Don't do it
8. Batch all messages
I check my email in less than 10 minutes a day. Here's what I do:
1. Check email 2x a day
2. Use Boomerang to pause inbox
3. One touch rule: Reply, Archive, or Delete
4. Always unsubscribe (don't just delete spam)
