What do you think of Gautam Adani overtaking Jeff Bezos to become the world's 3rd richest person?
By- THINKING BOXX
A very classic and beautiful example of what kind of businesses and entrepreneurs thrives in India. Adani group is not building any AI or gpt3 or dall-E that will change the world. They're focused on fundamental traditional businesses. Now it's questionable how he grew from $9B to $110B in just two years but take this as an inspiration. Look at the scale that india can provide, it's nuts to think about. people think building the next spacex will make them wealthy. That's just not true.
That’s crap valuation based on stock . In reality, nobody can match real wealth of Bill Gates, not even Elon Musk or Jeff Bezos. The thing is: Bill Gates has successfully liquidated all of his Microsoft shares by selling them. That’s a big thing because when a large shareholder starts selling his shares, company tanks along with its share values. In the case of Microsoft, it didn’t happen. Thanks for A2A Atmaja
Ofcourse we must put the blame squarely on the crony capitalism, Gujarat Model and cesspit democracy for Gautam Adani overtaking Bill Gates to become 4th richest person. If India had followed China model of growth, Adani would be plucking rice and sugarcane in the fields of Vandavasi :).
Now this is what I would write if I learn Economics from social media, but fortunately I had completed most of my education before social media became popular, so I cannot think that way.
- There is a lot of wealth inequality in India, but Gautam Adani is not responsible for that. If anything he only followed the rules laid out and has - so far - not got caught in any scandal.
- Right now- India is investing in infrastructure projects more than ever, and there are very few private Indian companies which can take up the task. Construction, oil and gas, electricity, mining are largely government controlled with very few private players who have subject matter expertise. So its bound to be a monopoly.
- Stocks, stocks- of course any large company has its major shares in stocks. Nothing new. Look at the how much stocks other billionaires owned in their companies.
- Contrary to social media assumptions, a growing nation WILL have a lot of inequality during its growth phase. USA had a lot of inequalities during the 19th Century. Europe had a lot of inequalities during the 20th centuries.
- China has a lot of inequalities, more than India, but since its a cesspit autocracy, its not reported by their “media”. India is a democracy and a free world, so its inequalities get more spotlight.
- And for those talking of inequalities, India is much better than other Asian countries in GINI index
You tell me
IN 2020 - Adani was worth $ 8.9 Billion
In 2022 - Adani is worth $ 113 Billion
Let me check google to see if these numbers are right
They are!!! March 2020 - Adani was valued at $ 8.9 Billion and today he is $ 113 Billion
Thats a growth of roughly 1169% across 2 years
Are you getting this?
1169% across 2 years
What exactly did Adani Group do in these two years to show 1169% Growth?
Did they develop a cure for Cancer? Cure for AIDS? Build a Quantum Computer?
How does a company grow by 600% a year in Market Capitalization? After the IPO Phase i mean
How do these valuations work exactly?
How does a Company and an Individual grow richer by 1200% in 2 years?
Now you tell me - Dont you find it odd?
They didnt discover a Gold Mine or Oil Field
They did NOTHING to justify 1200% growth in 2 years
Subsequently the 1200% Growth is ENTIRELY SPECULATION
Its what is called PAPER MONEY
Now Bill Gates - Sure he too is a Paper Billionaire
However he has a Unique Asset - Microsoft - Technology!!! Unique Technology, Patented Technology , Certified Technology
And his growth reduced form 2020 to 2022 which was on par for Covid 19 and its impact on World Markets
So either Adani was vastly undervalued in 2020 or he is massively bloated and overvalued in 2022
So One is an Eccentric Creator of Global Technology and the Other is a Glorified ‘THELAWALAH’ Crony Capitalist whose growth in value is highly dubious
The Way Adanis Paper is growing - I would see him at #1 Soon except that our Friend Elon Musk too is printing paper and growing on Paper like Adani.
