BJP MLA and Deputy Speaker in Himachal Pradesh Assembly, Dr Hans Raj, allegedly threatened a school principal after the official turned down a request for an out-of-turn admission. In a purported audio clip, Hans Raj was initially heard making a request to the principal.

But as the principal refused to entertain an admission request for one of the MLA's relatives' son, citing quota rules, things got heated up.

"I am a deputy speaker in Chamba. I will ask Anurag ji [Anurag Thakur] to speak to your chairman. He will set you right," Hans Raj was heard telling the school official in the audio.

Then the principal reiterated that admission cannot be secured by issuing a threat. "I will send you to Kabul, Kandhar, Afghanistan," was the BJP MLA's response.

When the principal told the deputy speaker that he was recording the call, the speaker further threatened to summon him to Assembly and sue him for his act of defiance.

However, this is not the first time MLA Hans Raj has grabbed headlines for the wrong reasons. He landed in trouble in May for allegedly slapping a student while on a visit to a government school. No police complaint was lodged in this case. He had also faced criticism from the lawyer community for allegedly using objectionable language against advocates of the Chamba Bar Association.
