Diwali LIVE Updates: Paying his tributes to soldiers at Nowshera in Jammu and Kashmir, PM Modi on Diwali said "130 crore Indians can celebrate festivals" because of the Indian army.
It is an annual tradition of the Prime Minister, ever since he assumed office in 2014, to travel to the frontiers of India's border points on Diwali each year to bring some joy to the lives of the armed forces personnel posted at some of the remotest security check posts.
Role of women in area of nation's security is touching newer heights: PM Modi
Addressing the Army jawans in Jammu and Kashmir's Nowshera sector in Rajouri district, Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the role of women in the area of security of the nation which is touching newer heights.
" Women are being given permanent commissions in the army now. The doors of premier military institutions have also been opened for women now," PM Modi said.
