Does Money buy happiness? What is happiness?

Money doesn’t buy you happiness. It can afford you Freedoms and such, but I would think that Man (and Woman), having a true purpose in their life is what ultimately makes them happy. I’ve met successful 6 figure and even 7 figure business men and women who were so unhappy, they’d talk about suicide, addictions, taboo of pleasure, buying worthless shit every day just to fill the void…also, food addictions, gambling addictions and so forth can take hold of them.

Money creeps into many of our conversations. We talk about how much we have or don’t have, how to spend it and how to save it. money does not buy happiness. It can bring amenity , but we can get peace of soul only by doing true devotion. Rich people are not happy despite owing crores because they do not have peace of spirit.

Peace of the soul is attained only when we do true worship as according to scriptures .

Rich people are not happy despite owing crores because they do not have peace of spirit.

Peace of the soul is attained only when we do true worship of God.

But in the present time the race to earn money has increased so much that everyone is trying to earn money and had forgotten the God only in the name of God we are doing orthodox tradition.

Whenever we go to the temple and bow down our head in front of the the statue of God or goddesses , or donated some money , in the name of religion but its not the right way of worship

Today most of the society is moving towards the wrongdoing we are fighting in the name of religion, but we are unable to understand that what is the real religion and what God should we do devotion? We have been divided into Hindu Muslim Sikh and Christian religions in the name of religion, but there is no real devotion in any religion today. All are doing spiritual practice against scriptures which our religious leaders told us.

Dharma gurus self doing worship against scriptures do and told us the same to do on the name of religion because they do not know the right way of worship they have made religious practices merely a means of livelihood.

But in present time agitation prevailing in the society , the main reason behind this is our falling level in spirituality and we have to do spiritual practices against the scriptures, but on the other hand, a saint who is providing the scriptures based true way of worship and his followers are working for society improvement works . Like doing dowry-free marriages, deviating from other orthodox traditions and getting happiness by doing right worship according to scripture.

Peace of soul can be attained only if we will do devotional practice according to scripture under the supervision of a tatvdarshi saint about whom our Gita ji is telling .

As the main purpose of human life is the attainment of the divine, not the money, the money we earn in this mortal world it remains here .

But if we do devotion by taking naam dan from a true saint then our our salvation is possible and taht is the true happiness for our soul .

So, finally I want to repeat that money can't buy happiness.

I challenge anyone to feel peaceful and happy when you’re worried about the consequences of not having enough money, because those consequences are very harsh.

Can you feel happy when you’re watching your car get towed away for nonpayment? Since I depended on this vehicle for making money, it was not a particularly joyful experience to hand over the keys. In fact, it was a period of great anxiety, shame and fear. Getting it back was similarly horrible.

Can you feel happy when you’re looking at a foreclosure notice? I didn’t think so. Your home, your equity, your life is about to be taken from you. I felt no period of enlightenment, only sleepless nights while I scrambled (and succeeded) in getting enough money to hold things together.

There is no joy in having creditors call you night and day, in having to juggle bills and decide who gets paid this month. There is certainly nothing enjoyable about saying: “I can’t have that. We don’t have enough money.”

When you don’t have enough money you are always settling for something less. Your clothes are threadbare and crappy, your stuff is old and breaks, you shop for bargains, not for what you really want.

You never have the latest and greatest anything. Your car is a piece of crap that can fail at any moment and you shop at a dingy thrift store for stuff. It’s depressing. Don’t even think about Christmas, that time of year when you’re reminded of how little you have to spare. Don’t even get me started on all the late fees and the occasional bounced check fees which add insult to injury. When you don’t have enough money, the vultures don’t just circle, they swoop down and take little pieces of you because they can.

You live in fear of that One Big Expense that can totally take you down and completely wipe you out.

It is a horrible awful feeling to be a bad provider.

Money buys choices and when you run out of money you run out of choices as well. There is the story of the man in the hammock who lives a simple life and is happier than the millionaire. It sounds appealing.

But what everyone forgets is that he’s stuck with that hammock. If he gets bored with it or if it gives him back trouble, too bad, so sad; he’s not going anywhere because he doesn’t have the money.

It’s not just that your choices become limited either, it’s worse than that. Other people start making your choices for you. If you can no longer pay for a place to live, someone else will decide where you live. If you live on someone else’s couch, then they decide the rules that you live by. Heck, if you live in an apartment and even if you pay the rent on time, someone else decides if you can continue to live there.

All of these things are quite stressful and detract from your happiness.

Once you have money though, everything changes. There are no phone calls from creditors, everything not only gets paid on time, but the money to make that payment is already in the bank well before that bill is due. If you’ve lived on the edge for several years, that’s an amazing exhilarating feeling. If you own your own home and pay the mortgage and taxes, no one else can decide where you live. You also get to choose how the home and yard look, (within reason.)

If you have a lot of money you can make even more choices. You don’t have to choose that one vacation this year, you can take more of them if you like. You can have more cars, a bigger house, whatever you want. The choices are in your hands.

Eventually my business took off and I started making more money.

There is a great deal of happiness in having things that make your life easier and better. I have a tablet for work. I can watch my Netflix shows when I’m out of town, I can easily read construction drawings when I’m in an attic or check and respond to emails without squinting at my nice phone.

We bought a high end coffeemaker and now our coffee tastes a lot better because it’s not getting overcooked. I bought an expense radial arm saw to replace my aging one and now work is more pleasant.

It’s also easier to donate money to worthy causes. I can now choose to give away some of my money. That feels much better than always living with scarcity.

Guess what? I’m happier with more money.

I work for people ranging from millionaires to elderly pensioners with little extra income. As a group, the millionaires are happier. Much happier.

So yeah, money can absolutely buy happiness.

We also think about it–what we would do if we had more. We worrying about not having enough, or how to deal with the money we have.

Money permeates all areas of our life. So much so that we might think that it is the most important thing in life. Although it is important to have money, there are some things in life that money cannot buy, no matter how much we have.

So what are those invaluable things that money cannot buy?

Time

The only moment of time that you truly have is right now. Once this moment is gone, it is gone and you can’t get it back. When you don’t use this moment to tell someone that you love them or forgive them you may never get another chance.

The same goes for opportunities. If a great opportunity comes your way and you pass it up, it may never come back again. The past keeps us stuck, the future is the field of opportunities, but now is the time for action.

Happiness

Happiness is a thought form. It is not something you can find outside of yourself. Happiness is not a thing, event, or person. It is a state of mind–something you choose.

Happiness is a quality to be discovered within yourself. Only you can give yourself lasting happiness.

Money can only buy fleeting happiness. It rarely lasts and soon you are searching for another happiness fix.

Love

Love is special. It is that magical feeling we all want. It is a feeling of being special, blessed, and cared for.

The sad truth is that it is not always easy to get.

It is perhaps one of the greatest feelings a person can have for another and it does not cost a dime. You simply have to be yourself and give love to everyone around you. What you give, you receive.

Wisdom

Wisdom comes from life’s experiences. The more you experience things and events in life the more you are aware of how things work or don’t.

It is through trial and error that you learn what you like or don’t, what works and doesn’t, what helps and what hinders. You gain wisdom through the lessons learned from mistakes. Money can never buy these valuable pearls of wisdom. They only come from experience.

Talent

Everyone is born with a unique talent. For some it very obvious, as in the music prodigy who picks up a violin at age three and begins to play. For others it may take more time to uncover. Regardless of whether it is immediately obvious or not, we all have that one thing that we are very good at.

Discovering your natural talent is a gift which no amount of money can buy.

Curiosity

Young children are filled with curiosity. They want to know why, they take things apart to see what is inside, they explore fearlessly and they ask questions with blunt honesty.

As adults much of this natural curiosity has been conditioned out and is replaced by fear. Those individuals who have maintained their natural curiosity are the movers and shakers of our world. Money did not buy their success, their curiosity did.

Trust

Trust an essential human value that is at the heart of all relationships. Trust is a choice we make towards another when they have earned our confidence.

It can be difficult to acquire and, when damaged, is even harder to regain. Money can’t buy back someone’s trust when it has been broken. You can only reclaim it through actions.

Life purpose

Everyone has a purpose in life. It can be something as basic as being an honest person or as complicated as running a country.

Your life purpose comes from within. It is that which makes you feel great and something you love doing. You know you are following your life’s purpose when you can get up in the morning ready and eager to face the day. You are happy, positive and energetic. This feeling is not dependant on money; it comes from from an inner drive that says, “I love doing this!”

Life

Life, or the essence of being alive, is a miracle. It is a miracle that we don’t give much notice to. Mostly, it is taken for granted. We are born. We live each day without much awareness of all the miraculous things happening in our body. It is only when something is not functioning well that we pay attention.

Life is not dependent on money. Money can help to keep it healthy, but the essence of life itself does not require money. It is a gift!

Choice

This space is for you to add your choice for the most invaluable thing that money can never buy.

Here’s my suggestion to find happiness

Find your true purpose…what I mean is, what is something you could read over 500+ books about and never get bored? What would light a fire in your belly in the morning to jump out of bed and go at it?

A very successful and VERY HAPPY entrepreneur told me one day “to give something all your sweat, love, tears, energy, everything you have and don’t expect anything in return…” and not only will you become so fulfilled with life, the money will follow.

Seems like some of the greatest advice I ever was given and I am working every day to fulfill that as well.

We’re all human, and we might try a 100 different things to find happiness…and that’s ok. The thing about “money” shouldn’t play a part on your happiness because if you can look forward to another day of waking up and tackling your purpose in life, that there is really priceless.

DON’T chase the $$. Over 82% of people recorded by survey (google it) say they are miserable at their place of employment but stay because of the money.

That to me is not living, that is dying…and I’ll be damned if I’m another statistic.

Okay, I went a little off on a tangent but I hope some of this helps.

PS: If you need more help on what to shoot for in regards to happiness…try sitting down and writing out 10 things you haven’t done but have always wanted to do…

Then go to the local library or Bookstore and find books on the topics/subjects and read up…

Then, develop a plan of ACTION to take on it…It’s not the full answer to “happiness” but I believe its a great place to start.

Good luck
