The success story of Neeraj Chopra Gold Medal starts with losing weight.  At the age of 10-11, Neeraj Chopra was overweight.  To reduce the weight of Neeraj, father and uncle sent him to Shivaji Stadium in Panipat, where he was made to play many games.  Neeraj Chopra's weight was very high, so he could neither run fast, nor did he have the strength to do long jumps and high jumps.  One day, while walking with his friends, Neeraj saw some senior players throwing javelin in the stadium.  Neeraj also jokingly picked up the spear and threw it with full force.  Everyone was stunned to see Neeraj's javelin throw.  At the age of 11, Neeraj Chopra threw the spear more than 25 meters away.  On the same day everyone understood that Neeraj Chopra was made for this game.  Neeraj Chopra himself fell in love with this game so much that he started practicing javelin throwing for 7-8 hours daily.

 Poor farmer family made Neeraj champion Neeraj Chopra picked up the spear but now the biggest problem before him was poverty.  Neeraj Chopra belongs to a farmer family whose financial condition was not good.  Neeraj Chopra lived in a joint family which has a total of 17 members.  This family of 17 members was so poor that they could hardly get even 7 thousand spear to Neeraj Chopra.  By the way, the cost of Javelin Throw spear was 1.5 lakh rupees at that time.  Neeraj had a cheap spear in his hand, but despite this, his spirit was high.  Neeraj Chopra started the practice of throwing javelin and he started practicing it for hours.

Neeraj Chopra made YouTube as coach Neeraj Chopra saw days when he did not have any coach but despite this he did not give up.  Neeraj Chopra was a person who never gave up since childhood.  Neeraj Chopra took training in throwing javelin by watching videos on YouTube.  He would watch the video everyday and try to replicate it in the field.  Soon Neeraj Chopra started training in Yamunanagar where his career started taking wings.

Played in the World Junior Championship, Neeraj Chopra's Dankaneeraj Chopra participated in the World Youth Championship in the year 2013.  Neeraj Chopra's performance in this competition held in Ukraine was very disappointing.  He finished 19th and could throw the javelin only 66.75 meters away.  But two years later, in the Asian Championship held in Wuhan, Neeraj took the 9th place with a javelin throw from 70.50 meters away.  In the 2016 South Asian Games, Neeraj Chopra won the javelin throw gold medal with a distance of 82.23 meters.  In the same year, Neeraj Chopra set a world record in javelin throw at 86.48 meters in the World Junior Championships.  Neeraj Chopra won gold and people started knowing his name.  In the Commonwealth Games held in 2017, Neeraj Chopra won the gold medal for the country with a javelin throw of 86.47 meters and in 2018 Chopra won the gold once again in the Asian Games with a throw of 88.06 meters.  Neeraj suffered many dangerous injuries and even Kovid-19 to reach the Olympics, but despite this, this athlete raised the country's honor and respect by winning a medal in the Olympics.
