No not with bare hands. They wouldn't be able to even break the skin of an elephant let alone get deep enough or hit hard enough to damage any bones or vital organs. Even if the elephant stood there and did nothing it would be a stalemate but if it fought back the men would die fast. To have any chance the men need tools. Taking a humans tools away is a bit like taking a lions claws and teeth away. It then becomes helpless

Even the strongest people on Earth don’t compare. They’re still like little mice compared to the power that an elephant has.
