New Delhi: Mithali Raj of the Indian women's cricket team is counted among the top female cricketers in the world.  She has achieved many big milestones in her career and it would not be wrong to say that she has been instrumental in taking the women's team to these heights.
Today Mithali Raj has done another big feat in her career.  He has completed 22 years of One Day International career.

Mithali Raj played the first ODI match against Ireland on 26 June 1999, so today she completes 22 years.  Earlier, only India's great batsman Sachin Tendulkar has done this.  Tendulkar's career has been 22 years 91 days.  He made his debut against Pakistan on 18 December 1989 and played his last match against Pakistan on 18 March 2012.
Mithali has many records in her name
Mithali, who made her international debut in the year 1999, is also the first woman cricketer to complete 6000 runs in One Day International cricket.  England's Charlotte Edwards, who retired from international cricket in 2016, is second in the list of highest run-scorers with 5992 ODI runs.

Earlier, Mithali Raj had completed 10,000 runs in international cricket.  She has become the first Indian and second cricketer in the world to do so.  Former England captain Charlotte Edwards is the only woman cricketer to have scored more than 10,000 runs in international cricket before Mithali.
