Early Life
Kristen Stewart was born in Los Angeles, California, in 1990. Her father, John Stewart, has been a television producer and a stage manager for different organizations, the most renowned one being Fox TV. Her mother, Jules Mann-Stewart (originally from Australia) has been a script supervisor and has even directed the movie K-11. With both parents from the entertainment industry, Kristen Stewart was raised in an environment conducive to a career in movies. Some of her early years were spent in Colorado as well as Pennsylvania, and she came back to Los Angeles after she became eight years old. As she started getting involved in acting at a very young age, she completed her high school through correspondence. Movie Career
When Kristen Stewart was just eight years old, she had participated in a Christmas play at school, where her performance was noticed by an agent. It opened the doors for a glorious career in Hollywood, starting with a tiny part in a Disney TV film, The Thirteenth Year. She started her professional acting journey with the portrayal of a character named Sam Jennings in the 2001 movie The Safety of Objects. The talented young woman shared screen space with the veteran Jodie Foster for the 2002 American thriller movie Panic Room. Her performance was critically acclaimed and she even got nominated for the Best Performance in a Feature Film - Leading Young Actress at the Young Actor Awards. She then acted alongside stars like Sharon Stone and Dennis Quaid for another thriller, Cold Creek Manor, in 2003.
The 2004 release, Catch That Kid, was the first movie where Kristen Stewart plays the lead role. She featured in the showtime TV film Speak in 2004, along with few other movies in the subsequent years. Stewart won the Best Actress at the MTV Movie Awards for her compelling performance in this vampire flick. The grand commercial success of Twilight led to Stewart starring in the sequels of this movie, titled The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009), The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (2010), The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 (2011) and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 (2012). By the time the Twilight series came to an end, Kristen Stewart had become a worldwide star. In fact, she made handsome earnings of 12.5 million USD for each for the last two parts of the Twilight movie series.
While the Twilight movies got released one after the other over a period of five years, the actress experimented with a variety of other roles in movies such as comedy drama flick Adventureland (2009), Welcome to the Rileys (2010), Snow White and the Huntsman (2012), Still Alice (2014), and Anesthesia (2015). She also became the first American actress to win Best Supporting Actress at the Cesar Awards, France, for her performance in Clouds of Sils Maria.
