Who is the most damaged character in the MCU?

Thor lost his family and his entire world, but he did ultimately feel like he could work his way back (and obviously he didn’t lose EVERY SINGLE ASGARDIAN because even before Endgame, there’s the village/kingdom) and like he could find a new purpose and new companions. He was damaged for a while, but he is on the road to recovery.

Wanda is broken inside. I thought the sentence in the answer listing what she’s lost was going to include, fairly, that she lost her mind. She’s literally gone mad with grief. Not in the ‘cackling turned to evil’ way, in the sense she’s had a psychotic break. The up side to Agatha is her trying to steal the “secret” to Chaos Magic may just snap Wanda out of it and force her to not just confront what she’s done and fix it but to be the Avenger again and stop Agatha from doing something worse.

I would say it’s Wanda.

Her body was literally damaged to be a spy. She can never have kids and that’s why she treats Clint’s as her own. She was forced to kill without mercy. She was forced to seduce anybody, male or female. She was forced to become ruthless and heartless even though we see throughout the MCU she is very much caring and loving. Many years of her in such a state has damaged her into the person we see her as today. She doesn’t even have god damn super powers to cope with. She has to literally cry and eat a sandwich to get by her growing depression that she keeps shoving away with smiles.

And then…. the saddest part….. she can’t see a happy future for herself so she wants to die doing good one last time… and makes it her duty to sacrifice herself for the future of the Avengers and the world.

Do you see it in her eyes? While all the broken characters are trying to live and find their happiness, Natasha has convinced herself she is too broken to move on. She would much rather end it for good, doing good. At that moment, it truly was okay for her and that’s why she is the most broken character in the MCU. And this decision came so quick for her because she knew she had an answer if there was ever a question if she would have to sacrifice herself…. sometimes, I think maybe she wanted this so she doesn’t have to fake being happy all the time.

side note: I don’t think she was suicidal at all, only just very driven to do the thing that nobody was prepared for when it came to it because she convinced her self that’s how she wipes out the red in her ledger.

Thor: “What more could I lose?” -> basically saying it can only get better, but don’t take away from me

Wanda: “You took everything from me!” -> basically saying don’t take anymore from me or I’ll kill you

Natasha: “It’s okay” -> basically saying take everything from me, including the pain.

After watching WandaVision, I have come to the realisation she has lost it all.

She lost her parents, she lost her twin brother, she lost her android boyfriend and she felt so fucking lonely she had to abduct an entire town to feel better about herself. She knows this is a lie but even then, she’s still fighting to keep this afloat because it’s the only thing she has after all.

And now she has children that I suspect to be false and unreal. The Vision that is inside of Westview is not even real, either.

So I would say Wanda is sadly the most damaged character. She has had to grieve over and over and over again. And now she has to face the fact that all of this is not real, it’s not true. She will have to let it go at some point and I don’t know if she’ll survive such a horrible ordeal.
