She is a great mother. With her hard work, also help from other people and her local government, she has a much better life now, which makes me happy too. However in the video of her interview, all the scenarios are good, but suddenly she said that her baby in that picture dead. it just likes a hard punch on my heart without warning, makes me so sad, so I shared my feeling here. The family in the photos are a minority group of Yi in China, but they are living like normal citizens in China. They are from Sichuan which is developing really fast, so it is extremely possible for their lives to be improved so much. My family is Han (majority), and our family was in a similar situation (no clothes, living in dirt shacks, no food…etc.) living in a poor fishing village but due to fast development, her family now lives in a really nice city. Got to remember it does not matter what Chinese ethnicity, we all at one point fell into the trauma of the past government and some are still suffering even now.
11 years ago, a journalist took this picture of a young mother, having a large backpack, at the same time carrying the baby in her arms. The great maternal love!
It’s a pity the journalist didn’t ask for her contact information at that moment. So he was searching for this mother for 11 years. Fortunately, the journalist got her contract information recently, then visited her very soon. Now she is a lovely mother of 4 kids.
Compared to her old home, her life is much better than 11 years ago ( her daughter is in the following picture).
I was so happy to read this news at the beginning, however, burst into tears when she said in the video of her interview:
"In that picture, I was carrying my baby back home because she was sick, and I didn’t have money to treat her at that moment…… 4 months later SHE DIED, she is my first child, I am so sad"....……
Hope every mother will not suffer this kind of sadness in the world, and every mother lives a good life.
