Placement Support Activities at Amity Business School, Mumbai

Amity Business School Mumbai is focused and committed to foster the 360-degree holistic development of business students for 100% placement through numerous planned events on aptitude building, positive outlook development sessions, career counseling, and grooming sessions. With these activities, students get exposure to the industry culture and corporate stance. With the grooming sessions, students are prepared to be industry-ready through a continuous interactive development platform along with numerous National and International Corporate Interaction series to build a healthy interface with the company. These corporate interfaces are initiated with the objective of bringing continuous improvement in students’ activity. Alumni Talks are arranged regularly, which helps and enables students to emerge as an effective team player via augmenting internal competencies along with managing good well-being. Utmost importance is given to assist our students in getting suitable placements on the successful completion of their studies. In this endeavor, 100% of students were placed in this session of 2019-20.

Career Progression activities at ABSM for Better tomorrow of Business Students

A number of activities are conducted for the students to give them an all-round exposure and to make them industry-ready. A glimpse of the same is provided below:

1. Guest Lectures

More than 20 National and International guest lectures were organized at ABS focusing on building up in-depth knowledge about specific concepts and their application in the business context. In these sessions, different aspects of Business management were touched base upon to make graduating students aware of the ongoing economic and market conditions

2. Web Series by Entrepreneurs

More than 15 sessions on startup planning were organized to ensure hand holding of budding entrepreneurs on how to convert the business idea into a successful business. Prime focus of such sessions is to develop entrepreneurial acumen amongst the students who wish to take entrepreneurship as their career plan. These series were found to be very interesting and fact focusing for the students. They were motivated for starting their own enterprise as they learned about the process of how, to begin with, a start-up.

3. Sessions on Global Finance, Taxation, and Auditing

In these sessions, students were briefed about the different aspects of Global Finance, taxation policies, and auditing (internal, external). They gained practical knowledge of internal and external auditing and found it very elaborative.

4. Workshop to know Self:

Such Workshops are planned every semester wherein students explore self and their personality traits. They gain confidence in their self-deeds. In these workshop speaker share mantras about Success which can only be achieved when one knows his or her strengths, it was also deliberated by means of activity in the workshop, that a positive attitude is a key for being happy and that leads to a powerful personality In this each participant is motivated for conducting a SWOT analysis on self. After successfully attending such workshops participants found themselves more positive regarding their personality identification, cognizance, and development.

5. Workshop on HR Analytics:

All MBA HR students at ABS learn HR analytics. Through this workshop, the importance of analytics and its role in HR domains are deliberated. In this further exploration of common challenges faced by HR and key HR performance indicators are studied with the help of HR based simulations.

6. Career Guidance and Grooming Activities

Students are prepared on how to convert their theoretical knowledge to practical knowledge and its application aspects in their corporate life ahead. With such grooming focused sessions students gain knowledge on current affairs and various market avenues.

7. Counseling Sessions by Professionals:

Counselling sessions primarily focus on stress management. With these stress busters/management sessions, students gain insights on how to handle stress during the personal interview, Key points on interview etiquettes are emphasized at length in these focused counselling. During these sessions, students are pondered to share the problems they are facing in the personal interview tips were shared on how to crack an interview.

8. Panel Discussion on what do employers look for Potential Hires.

Students are made aware of how the primary screening of the candidates takes place. Different risk factors associated with careers are discussed by panelists. The major outcome from such panel discussion is to pervade motivational factors amongst the students to work upon on their strength and weakness to gain better insights on what employers are looking for in their future employees

9. Student Connect Initiatives by Faculty and Placement Team

The placement team ensures one to one connect with all the placement aspiring students through numerous students connect presentations in all UG and PG programs at the beginning of the semester itself. The students are briefed about the benefits of campus placement, the procedure of applying in different companies, placement guidelines, and policies, and previous year placement data. Students are motivated to take benefits from the campus placement activities.

10. Business Simulations

Business simulations are hands-on, interactive learning experiences that allow participants to truly engage in the material. Instead of focusing on theoretical knowledge like in a classroom setting, participants build skills, improve conceptual knowledge, and gain an overview of the organization. Two simulation workshops are conducted in order to give students a real-time experience of business scenarios. With these Simulations, all participants strengthened their comprehension of the realistic workings of business aspects and how one decision affects the organization's portfolio.
