Dominos, Swiggy, SBI,Netflix,Paytm, Zomato join the party as 'pawri ho rahi hai' on social media
It's 'Pawri' everywhere! By now, all of you must be aware of the 'Pawri hori hai' trend that went viral after Pakistani influencer Dananeer Mobeen posted a hilarious video, taking the internet by storm. The trend started soon after social media influencer Mobeen's video went viral on social media in which she is seen to be vacationing in a hilly location. In her 15-second video, she can be heard saying, "Ye humari car hai aur yeh hum hai aur ye humari pawry ho rahi hai (this is our car, this is us, and this is our party)."
While netizens can't stop talking about it and creating their own versions , many brands have also decided to join the bandwagon! Making the most of the trend, several Indian brands are now campaigning using the "pawri hori hai" memes and showing off their witty and creative side.
Uttar Pradesh Police warned people about late-night parties using the #PawriHoRahiHai trend and tweeted, "Late night #PawriHoRahiHai aur aap disturb ho rahe toh call karein 112."
A Pakistani social media influencer named Dananeer Mobeen shared a video on Instagram wherein she can be heard saying, "Yeh Hamari car hai, ye hum hain aur ye hamari pawri (party) ho rahi hai." The video became the talk of the town due to Mobeen's pronunciation of the word party.
After the pawri video became a trend, musician Yashraj Mukhate, made his signature style music video on this trend. The musician, who is known for his rendition of Rasode Mein Kaun Tha put this music video out on Instagram with the caption, "Aajse me party nahi karunga sirf pawri karunga. Kyunki party karne me wo maza nahi jo pawri karne me hai."
The track by Yashraj has over 43 million views so far and has been complimented by celebrities like the Gully Boy actor Siddhant Chaturvedi, Archana Puran Singh, comedian Sahil Shah and social media influencers Dolly Singh and Kusha Kapila. Meanwhile food delivery apps like Zomato, Swiggy and Dominos also posted yummy food memes:
To promote its 50 per cent discount offer, Dominos took to Instagram and posted, "Don't forget to order your favourite sides for the Dominos Pizza Party and get up to 50% off on all orders. #PawriHoRahiHai."
Food delivery apps Swiggy and Zomato also decided to have some fun with this trend as a perfect valentine's day plan doesn't exist.
India's largest public-sector lender State Bank of India also jumped on the bandwagon and promote the offers on its online banking app, SBI YONO in a tweet. SBI tweeted, "Aise offers ho to pawwrty toh banti hai. #YONOSBI #PawriHoRiHai"
Oyo Rooms asked everyone to join the 'pawri' on Instagram with the caption, "Pawri kar lo guys! #PawriHoRahiHai #ValentinesDay #YeRishtaHaiKhiska #MomentMarketing #Trending."
Online streaming giant Netflix could not keep away either and tweeted, "Watching something with your friends X Netflix pawri ho rahi hai, tick emoji."
These were, however, not the only ones to encash the pawri trend as the central government's press division-Press Information Bureau (PIB) and Uttar Pradesh Police also jumped in. In a recent tweet, PIB utilised the pawri trend to talk about its efforts at tackling fake news.
