Does a hippo stand a chance against an elephant in a fight?

Already happened before. Here's the result:

There is a period every year they close parts of the Kruger National park. It is when a fruit African elephants like is abundant. They eat enough of it that it ferments in their stomach and they get drunk and do things like sit down on cars. The most dangerous time is when they run out of fruit, sober up and have hangovers. Lions have been known to prey on Hippos, Rhinos and Elephants. Although generally avoided being attacked, elephants are not an apex predator, and therefore they are viewed as potential prey if all else disappears. Even though elephants in Africa are huge, there are deadlier and more dangerous animals in the African woodlands. That is why the Lion dominates the African plains. There's a difference between African and Asian elephants. And no tigers don't hunt Adult elephants and even if they try to they are most unsuccessful. They can hunt young calves that's it but not fully grown adults. And no a Rihno is nothing compared to Elephant there are multiple videos on youtube about the confrontation its usually ends in Rihno running away.

No land animal in the savannah has the power to challenge an African Elephant. They are by far the largest land animals on Earth, rivaled by no one other than other elephants. A hippo would surely give most land animals a run for their money, but an elephant is NOT one of them. The only ones that might have a chance is the royal Bengal tiger and the siberian tiger. Maybe the rhino as well.

There is a lot of recorded cases of bengal tiger killing adult Asian elephants, some even large bulls.

The mighty elephant rag dolls the hippo in any confrontation. The only way the hippo wins is if it's facing a sick or a young elephant.
