Will a bicycle help me stay fit if I use it for my regular uses in place of my motorcycle?

Yes, many people don't know the advantage of cycling and how it helps burn extra calories. If you do cycling for 60 mins, you could burn anywhere between 400 - 1000 calories. That’s a lot of calories burned per minute is just behind boxing, running, and canoeing.

If you’re trying to include some form of physical activity and came up with the simplest idea of going with cycling instead of the bike then its a good decision.

Things you’ll notice with regular cycling:

  1. Improved cardiovascular fitness
  2. Increased flexibility
  3. Improved joint mobility
  4. Decreased body fat percentage levels
  5. Improved posture and coordination
  6. Cycling will also help build muscle – particularly around the glutes, hamstrings, quads, and calves.

Joining a cycling club or group is an excellent way to grow your social circle too, and few of my friends have done this so I can definitely vouch for it.

Try finding a cycling group for weekly activity, and you’ll probably learn all about maintenance and training advice from them.
