Why do Trump (and to a lesser extent Biden) keep pretending to point to specific people in the crowds in front of them? They are not fooling anyone.

Biden pointed to me in a small town in Oskaloosa and waved in November of last year. The house, pre-COVID, was packed to capacity and somehow he saw me and waved. We had talked earlier and talked afterward.

Note also he tends to keep looking at the people who asked him a question.

As a conservative Republican I really wanted to see if I could support Biden out of what was then a crowd of Democrats. He spent a nice while talking to me, was in command of his facts, and said he did not mind who I supported as long as I voted.

The kid who the Trump campaign sent by was different. He has a fuck you attitude, said that there was a new Democracy and that I was either in their wagon or would find out I was on the outside of the money train looking in, was clueless about world events, and lied continuously even when he did not have to. Later he tried to get a job from me and bombarded my phone with messages when I turned him down, getting more and more angry and threatening until I had to send someone to speak with him.

I think the best person to sell Biden is actually Biden. The best way to sell Trump is keep him and his surrogates in a barrel.
