What standards for wealth have shifted in recent years?

I’m not trying to flex but….

People don’t realize just how much wealth there is in the US, and how well spread out it is relative to other places. Having a million dollar net worth isn’t even considered wealthy anymore.

There are nearly 19 million people in the US that have a net worth of over a million dollars. Most people don’t even consider you wealthy until you get over 3 million dollars. For comparison, China has 4.4 million millionaires, with quadruple the population.

The US certainly has its share of flaws and social problems that it is working through. But by and large, prosperity is quite easy to come by here relative to a lot of other places. Unfortunately, a lot of people here take that fact for granted.

But perhaps that’s the beauty of it all. You have the ability to coast and be comfortable. Not everyone has to hustle super hard just to eat and get by.
