James Marsden turned down a starring role in the 2012 stripper themed dramady “Magic Mike”.
——-“I think it was lack of courage. But then I was like ‘what am I doing?’ This is director Steven Soderbergh, I should have done it.”—-
Marsden now feels he could have “jumped in and had fun” with a “Magic Mike” role. But many of his friends and family differ.
——-“I have loved ones that still think it was a wise idea for me not to do it, because they don’t want to see me like that as a male stripper.”——-
“Magic Mike” received positive critical reviews and went on to make a ton of money at the box office.
Fortunately for Marsden, his decision hasn’t seemed to have had a lasting effect on his acting career.
He currently stars in the film version of Stephen King’s apocalyptic themed 1978 best seller “The Stand”.
