What is the biggest life lesson you have ever learned?

I bought a saree online once. This exact one.

Kanchipuram silk. Custom blouse stitching. Matching petticoat. Everything for just $30 total.

It looked beautiful, and what a great deal! The website was well-known and trusted so I bought it immediately.

When I received it, the material was dreadful.

It felt like the thin stretchy cloth that Halloween costumes are made of - itchy and giving you that cringey feeling when you rub two parts together.

I was devastated.

It had looked fantastic from the website, but in real life it was terrible.

And our lives are quite the same. With minimal investment we can have something that is beautiful online from afar but just awful up close.

Or we can spend some more time and effort for a life that will be good both in looks and feeling.

Put in the effort. Don't sell yourself short.

Since many are focusing on the saree and not the point, I'll clarify that this was from Utsav on a Diwali sale discount where all sarees were at very low prices. It was among the first sarees that I bought on my own, and online at that, and I was unable to differentiate quality at that time.
