What is best Haelathiest Homemade Food?

We had a potluck in my office last month.

I decided to make slow-cooked shredded chicken tacos, with a twist.

(Side Note: Those Mission street taco tortillas were horrible)

I substituted all the spices with ones used in Indian cooking.

  • The chicken was marinated in Indian spices (red chilli, turmeric, coriander powder, garam masala etc) and slow cooked for 2 hours.
  • Instead of pico de galo, I did a red cabbage & radish sprouts slaw. Wasn’t a traditional slaw. I didn’t use any mayonnaise or dressing. The seasoning was salt, black pepper, lime juice and a pinch of chat masala. It also had onion, tomato and colored peppers.
  • Instead of a salsa, I did a Cilantro-Mint-Avocado chutney. This chutney turned out to be a blockbuster. People kept coming back just for this chutney. Eventually ended up writing a recipe for them

Excuse my messy handwriting :p

That chutney was a last minute idea I had. I was initially planning to make a regular green chutney, but on a second thought it sounded boring to me. Rest is history ;)
