What do you think of body shaming?

This is Adele.

I mean, this WAS Adele. This is what she looks like now:

As you can see, she lost a ton of weight. Since she first became famous, Adele’s body has always been a topic of conversation, with fatphobic trolls belittling her for being plus-size or when she opened up about self-love and body positivity.

But apparently, people still aren’t satisfied. Instead of fat-shaming her like they did before, they’re now skinny-shaming her. (And yes, skinny-shaming is a thing.)

Many people, like me, were quick to celebrate her beauty in the posts, and she does look amazing after all. She looks happy and she’s glowinggg. But others are saying that it’s against body positivity and “I liked her just the way she was! She didn’t have to lose weight!” But it’s her body. And why are we so concerned about it?

I’ve also seen things like this:

I understand that this is trying to uplift women with curves that might be insecure about them, but you don’t need to put down other women in the process. Also, why are they so concerned about what men like? So much for feminism.

And this just proves that no matter how you look, there will always be something that won’t be enough. Every body can be body-shamed, and it’s a terrible thing. We can celebrate Adele and her beauty without attributing to her weight loss. She was beautiful then and she’s beautiful now.

All bodies are perfect as they are. The size of your waist has nothing to do with your worth. It’s as simple as that.

Love🙏
