What do British people find hard to understand about the American electorate and voters?

I find it hard to understand why there are very long queues just to cast your vote.

American election queue:

British election queue:

How can you still have a president still being the president over two months after he has been voted out, this is very baffling.

I have taken a passing interest in the presidential election this year, but I am totally confused that there is a thing called an electoral college that confirms the result, has it not been confirmed by the counting of votes?

The personal attacks on the candidates and their families not only by the electorate but by the main contenders as well are very uncomfortable listening for us British.

I cannot understand the hatred between the two different supporters of the Dems and the GOP ( see I am learning some of the terminology as well, got to thank Quora for that). I have friends that vote differently to how I vote but we are still friends.

Why have you only got two parties? not much of a choice is there.

Finally. You guys have no idea of what socialism means.
