What are the things going wrong in India?

The Indian System sadly failed a long, long time ago. It simply collapsed. The rest of the story is about somehow keeping the illusion of a dead body alive instead of allowing the body to be cremated and allowing for rebirth of a new nation with new rules, suited for the future.

Its what is called a Vicious Cycle.

The Problem with India is a ROT that has now penetrated everywhere and ensured that everything is steeped in inefficiency, corruption, hype, lies and greed and now followed by poisonous propaganda.

But THAT IS NOT THE MAJOR PROBLEM

The Major problem is The Refusal to Recognize the above problem and keep screaming “Glass is Half Full, Glass is Half Full”

Well other countries have watched their glasses empty, filled it up and are now happily quenching their thirst while we will keep to our half full glass for the next 200 years.

After 73 years of Independence, thanks to a number of repressive policies like Reservation, Corruption, Bureaucracy, Rabble Democracy, Religious Division, Colonial Mindset etc - India has not evolved. It is still a Colony. It is still a servile colony with the British Babus replaced by the Indian Babus and the Gov General replaced by the Politicians with the Britishers taking their share for their queen and the Indian Politicians taking their share for their families or for building a power base.

And yet everyone is lying about the fact that India is among there with the best of the nations. Everyone is lying. Politicians are lying based on GDP numbers, Businessmen are lying because they have skeletons ready in their closets and they know the truth would lead to one disaster after another, Foreigners are lying because they want to exploit and tap our market (Like the East India company did in the 1800s in china with the Opium Markets) and our own Indians are swallowing the lies because they are terrified to admit what the future will be looking like and would like to be ostriches.

A Lie

Another Lie

He wants to sell his cars in India - but we think we are really at the cusp of growth and development

After 73 years we simply dont generate sufficient wealth

Yet nobody sees it as a problem. That is the biggest issue here. Not one person is able to see that we dont generate any wealth. We dont have any Indigenous High Tech which could give us TT Revenue or Export Revenue, We dont have any Indigenous Products that could give us Export Revenue

We dont have any Trickle down wealth like countries like USA (in almost every area), China (in Domestic Market Demand, Exports), Japan (Exports, Domestic Demand, High Tech Exports), Singapore and other nations do.

Our wealth comes in two parts - Services and Illusion

Prior to 2008 - Services dominated a huge chunk of our wealth and we were prosperous

Since 2008, the Lehmann Bros Crisis - Today Services dont dominate a huge chunk of our wealth and instead Illusions do.

Every single thing is full of Illusions and Hype. There is an illusion of wealth with no real wealth anywhere. Inflated Shares run by Dalal Street Brokers, Hyped Valuations of every startup in Hundreds and Thousands of Crores without any parallel wealth generation, System after System either utterly inefficient or totally exploited to make a handful of people rich by impoverishing the lower and middle strata.

So there is our Vicious Circle - Completed

It started out with our Repressive Policies in the 1980s

It started out with our Socialist License Raj inferior Manufactured Products from the 1950s to the 1990s after which evolution and competition was impossible for most of the manufacturers.

It continued with the best attempts to revive the country by Mr Vajpayee and Mr Singh by becoming a Service Driven economy which was going beautifully until the 2008 Global Crisis

The Governments instead of recognizing the problems and rebuilding - were so bogged down by the inefficiency and corruption and the sheer effort that they began to start the hype, the lies and the illusions

Its not the INC or Modi or these businessmen who failed. It is the System. No other country in the planet has had so many bankruptcies of reputable entities over such a period of time (No Civilized country that is).

Today the problem is exactly that - Our Country is nothing but a tired country with a colonial mindset where it is easier to lie and hype and create illusions than to admit the truth, reform everything and begin afresh. The reason - terrified of losing votes. So ultimately - the Democracy factor plays a huge role.

There will be many jumping and calling me Unpatriotic.

I am very sad to write this answer. I had huge dreams for India in the 1980s and 1990s and even in the 2000s under Vajpayee and i seriously saw us as being a great nation.

However a great nation is not having a modern flyover or a modern 50 storey buildings or a handful of bullet trains. It is one where there is real generation of wealth. It is this wealth that can help the country and all this infrastructure.

Even today every road, every bridge, every flyover, every Train System is being financed by the Taxpayers of the country who are depending on the businesses to pay them their salaries or incomes and most businesses are depending on an artificial system of valuation to generate “wealth”. This cycle will crumble totally one day.

The only two choices are - Going back to 1977 and completely and totally closing down every foreign entrant OR rebuilding completely by starting afresh.

Otherwise - No matter what happens - Nothing can save us.

Its the Titanic all over again.
