Some common misconceptions people have about my country:-

The fact is only about a third of the total population have appearance similar to Mongol ethnicity. Rest of us are of Indo-Aryan ethnicity.

2. Most of us are Buddhists.
While Lord Buddha may be born in Nepal and we revere him. But, the vast majority of us (about 81.3%) follow Hinduism and the cow is our national animal.

3. Most of us live in the mountains.
The truth is the vast majority (about 52%) live in the Terai region of Nepal. The Terai region is the northern most stretch of the Indo-Gangetic Plain and spans across the entire length of Nepal.
4. All of us speak Nepali and people near Indo-Nepal border speak different language.
Nepal is a multilingual country, with about 123 distinct languages spoken here. Nepali is spoken by only 44.3% of the population. Also, most of the Indo-Nepal border looks like this.
