Objectively, there isn’t a “best” Android game right now but there are some genres that are particularly noteworthy right now and are seeing the most number of downloads and usage by the market.

If you’re looking to develop some of them or are looking for direction on which ones you can create that will be sure to get you some traffic, here are some of the more prevalent genres of mobile development today:

1. Hyper-casual games are seeing millions upon millions of downloads and are so simple that you rarely need instructions to pick up and play. Perhaps it’s the simplicity of the game play that entices people to download it, coupled with the busy nature of our lives. Lots of people like these simple games as a way to kill time while they’re waiting.
