People who don’t support the LGBTQ+ community, what is a NON-religion-based reason?

Okay. I’m not saying that this is how I think. I’m just saying that here are two non-religion-based reasons:

Sometimes, depending on the situation, some people confuse a distaste for obnoxiousness with non-support of the LGBTQ+ community. If, for example, people don’t like others who go out of their way to draw attention to themselves in public via their outfits or mannerisms, or seem overly-dramatic about everything, but also just happen to be LGBTQ+, the lack of support for that person may be interpreted as a lack of support for their sexuality when, in fact, it’s just a lack of support for what the first person considers obnoxiousness. The same response would be given to anyone who the person felt was being obnoxious, not just those who are also LGBTQ+.

Sometimes, too, some people’s sense of fairness may be misinterpreted as a lack of support for a group of people… specifically m2f trans athletes, especially when there is money on the line for winning.

Some may misinterpret others’ pointing out how unfair this is to the other athletes who’ve been biological women their entire lives… those who didn’t have the benefit of multiple years of having male levels of testosterone in their system… as being anti-trans. Few people don’t accept this woman because she’s trans (there are always going to be haters for every kind of human… you will never get 100% acceptance of anyone). But a lot of people who are perfectly accepting of the trans community can still look at mtf trans athletes competing in women’s sports and think it’s not fair, especially when it comes to student athletes who may lose scholarships because of it.
