Is the US really the greatest country in the world (please don't talk about health care, I mean that's not something that defines the greatness of a country)?

No. Not at all. Not even top 10. You can use lots of different criteria to find your answer, but the fact is America never comes top (at least not in the good categories). For example:

As you can see from the graphics despite being the richest country in the world the USA doesn't hold the top place in any international ranking for literacy, mathematics, science, any combination of those, or any other educational markers used.

You singled out healthcare and requested it wasn't used as a method of measuring if a country is great or not because you don't think it matters. You are wrong. Of course it matters. If you are dead, in a coma, a vegetable, paralysed or otherwise unable to engage with the world then you cannot contribute towards your own (or the countries, for that matter) general wealth and standard of living.

And the USA (again despite being the richest country in the world) does not feature in top 10 healthcare systems either.

The USA fares particularly badly in the area of poverty.

The USA likes to stomp and shout about how it's “THE GREATEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD!” which is usually followed by a frankly idiotic “GOD BLESS 'MURCA!”. But shouting something doesn't make it a fact.

If you want to shout something factual, try “THE USA IS A COUNTRY IN THE WORLD!”.

Hope that helps 😊
