This is COVISHIELD - This is the Vaccine developed entirely by Oxford University and Astra Zeneca who are the Owners and Creators of this Vaccine. The Vaccine is a British - American Vaccine.

India is only the manufacturer of the Vaccine. India simply gets the blueprint and makes the Vaccine for export. Same as China does for the iPHONE Or Toyota Cars or Sony Televisions. Doesnt make them Chinese products right? They are still in demand because they are Japanese and are of good quality.

No Indian Vaccine developed by India has yet in 70 years shown the slightest global demand.

Almost 97.9% of our manufactured vaccines have been developed by Russia/USSR, France, United States (Rare before 2007), UK, Switzerland, West Germany, Germany and surprise..suprise….Czechoslovakia!!! 

India will supply Covaxin is the same as Ramdev deciding to send 10000 bottles of his miracle cure. They dont want it. Itll remain in the deep freezers till 2047 and is only for dire dire.emergencies

The word Goodwill gesture means FREE.

Why would India need to export free vaccines to Oman or Bahrain??? They would happily pay.Its because nobody wants Covaxin. They all want Covishield.

Indian Pharma is about generic substitutes. Tell me that. Tell me that they can make a Pfizer at 1/10th the cost and ill acknowledge it. Tell me they can make a generic version of methinks or vancomycin at 1/20th the cost and ill happily agree.

Tell me they can create their own indigenous vaccine and i know - NO WAY on Earth. Simply No Way.

Its like saying Tata Motors designed the next car for the Grand Prix.

Fully different league. Even Vaccines for Dogs and Cows are developed by French (78%) or Americans (22%).

Even our Rabies Vaccine that we inject ourselves with when a Dog Bites is is made by a French Company called Sanofi Pasteur - though we have had a Pasteur Institute for years and years.

Our own Product is apparently Covaxin (I must apologize to some people as i was mistaken that this was also a US Collaboration but i was wrong in this) and even if you offer - 3 for the price of 1 - so far no country including Burkina Faso has wanted a single dose of this vaccine.

So Stop this nonsense. Get Realistic. Thats the only way to move forward. Would you be proud if an iPhone has Made In India label? Or just mock the phone saying it's an American company?

Why do other countries depend on India in this case? Because we are capable for bulk production. That's a huge advantage. We have infrastructure for bulk production and distribution.

There are so many products which are manufactured in China and they are labelled as Made in China. A part of revenue goes to China. Likewise, this vaccine is Made In India. It would have been another huge achievement if it was totally developed in India and we are on the verge of it with the other vaccine, Covaxine.

China created the SINOVAC indigenously. Yes its not as good as the others but its got 136 Million Doses ordered and its not had that many bad reviews in 9 Democratic Countries where it has been given - one of which includes Singapore and another which includes Malaysia.

Right now its bad but in 30 years time - they may beat US or UK in the market….

I am not saying Covaxin is safe(I don’t trust), but saying only Burkino Faso will buy it is laughable. You could have done a minimum google search before going on an negative answer.

Meanwhile, countries like Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Myanmar have chosen to buy Indian vaccines over Chinese vaccines. Only their lackey Pakistan is buying vaccines from them.(That too as they are too egoistic to ask Indian vaccines)

How do you know Covaxin works with the UK variant? Has anyone been injected with Covaxin and then with the UK variant.

This is all nonsense. There is not even clear clinical data. Once Pfizer and Moderna and Sinovac ans Sputnik and OxAz came up with their vaccines , Bharat Bio had to push their product through which is why all this is coming.

Well, I generally agree with most of your answers, that we are no match to China in many sectors, pharma is not one such sector.

Otherwise in 30 years time - Bangladesh will be producing its own vaccines and India will still be saying We won vaccine diplomacy and copying British, US and French Vaccines.
