Are there any Hollywood movies in which the villain actually won at the end?

Watching the Villan win in this Hollywood movie absolutely made my blood boil!!!!!

[Minor spoilers]

Yes, that's right. Here is Amy Dunne. A young, beautiful, innocent looking woman who in the movie is presented to have all the conventions to be a victim of male violence. This is what makes her so terrifying as she utilizes this prejudice to cripple men's lives and get away with it.

Gone Girl is a movie directed by David Fincher and is based on the novel written by Gillian Flynn. It is a thriller based on the disappearance of the wife of Nik Dunne (Ben Affleck), Amy Dunne(Rosamund Pike). The film is crafted in a way that prompts us to believe Nik was involved in the disappearance yet as Amy’s diary shows him to be an aggressive husband. It also brings to light Nik's unfaithfulness causing the Police to become increasingly suspicious. Furthermore, due to Amy's high profile, the public becomes heavily involved and when Nik's unfaithfulness is found out the public turn on him.

Yet as the movie goes on we find that actually, this was all a setup by Amy and she was trying to ruin Nik’s life due to 1.Him being unfaithful 2.she being fed up of having to live to his expectations. I am not supporting Nik’s actions but to ruin his reputation and the sentence him to prison for something he had not done is just pure evil. She was going to kill herself just to make sure he suffered. As the film progresses we find that she has destroyed other men accusing them of sexual assault causing their lives to decline into turmoil. She plays utilizes the prejudices and bias nature of the court and uses her gender as a ticket to destroy men. That's evil as f*ck. All these poor men destroyed for her selfish reasons.

However, her plot collapses due to unfortunate events meaning she now needs to work her way back to Nik. Yet again she plays the victim with another man lying that he held her captive. All the arguments point to this being a lie however because she is a young white woman privileged women she gets away with it. Nik knows she has lied but she has a sperm sample from him and then to poorly raise his child and teach it to hate his father. ultimately Amy wins and Nik is forced to live his life with her. Seeing Amy not get caught was honestly disturbing as she treats men as disposable objects which temporally serve their purpose. And she gets away with it!!!

Sorry I haven't included all the detail from the film as I might as well re-write the book. Yet if you have watched the film I am sure you would understand the uneasy feeling from seeing Amy Win at the end

Thanks for reading
