She was a phenomenal young actress and model whose rise to stardom seemed unstoppable but one role ruined it for her.
She had the grandest entrance in the 90’s, exploding onto the scene like the brightest new star that had all the potentials for a great career in the entertainment industry.
In her film debut, she earned the 1994 MTV Movie Award for Best Breakthrough Performance.
She appeared in three MTV videos of a rock group and was soon the hottest teen idol in town.
She starred in a comedy film that became a big box office hit and was soon considered as one of the best teen films of all time.
It seemed she couldn’t do anything wrong and that everything she touched could turn into gold.
And then KABOOM!
She played a role that extinguished her dazzling star light, though not completely, leaving a flicker that wouldn’t die but at the same time would never burn as bright.
She had another movie in the offing at that time, a film which was supposed to be her big starring vehicle, and unfortunately, it became a casualty.
Yes, she was able to work for years after this fiasco, but stardom it seemed had distanced itself to an unreachable point. It seemed that the amazing early upward trajectory of her career was halted and plateaued. Her hot start fizzled out and stripped of a next-big-star aura, she had become another one of the working actresses.,
She had been described, maybe unfairly, as the 1995’s “It girl” and a 1998’s “has been”.

…in that super critically panned 1997 “Batman and Robin” directed by Joel Schumacher that had negatively affected the other cast as well, like George Clooney who played Batman and more so Chris O’Donnel who played Robin.
The Razzie Awards cited it the Worst Picture of the year.
And unfortunately for her, who had just been proclaimed by MTV Music Award as the Most Desirable Female the previous year, she was named the Worst Supporting Actress.
The movie is now listed as #3 in the Stinkers Bad Movie List of the Last 100 Years.
