The best food items to eat in Ahmedabad are :-
- Lassi.

Lassi, one of the most famous milk products at Vipul Dudhiya. They have their own cows and buffaloes. You will be seriously impressed by the quality of milk and milk products at this place. The lassi is super thick, creamy and loaded with dry fruits, it had an even texture throughout. The one glass of lassi will make your stomach full. Highly recommended.
The place is a heaven for Shrikhand lovers. Do try their Shrikhand too.
- Puri Shak Thali.
Where :- Chandravilas Restaurant, Gandhi Road, Ahmedabad.
The legendary shop, Chandravilas Restaurant in old Ahmedabad is 120 years old restaurant. The famous Puri Shak Thali has 8 piping hot pooris along with a piping hot aloo sabji with some fresh chopped onions and fried chillies. The aloo sabji of them is so delicious that attract a large crowd for Puri Shak. Highly recommended. The price per plate is Rs.50/-
- Jalebi.
Where :- Chandravilas Restaurant, Gandhi Road, Ahmedabad.
One should not miss the Jalebi at Chandravilas Restaurant. As claimed by many people, there jalebi claimed to be so big, were indeed really delicious. These were thin, crisp, sweet on the outside because of the sugar syrup.
- Gujrati snacks - Nylon Khaman, Mari Khaman, Dhokla & Sev Khamani.
Where :- Shreeji Khaman House, Shahibag, Old Ahmedabad.
Gujrati snacks are comparatively much healthier. Way less on oil and rich in protein, Gujarat snacks are not only delicious but good for health as well. Khaman, Dhokla, Samosa, Wadi, Paatra, Khamani, every snack they serve is very good in taste. Highly recommended.
- Gujarati Pizza Samosa.

The pizza samosa is one of the most popular snack among all Gujaratis. The most popular shop, Lijjat Khaman is famous for Pizza Samosa especially. Their pizza samosa is damn good in taste which are filled with mayo, corn and capsicum. The pizza samosa is served along with dal chutney and sweet tomato sauce, it was like eating a pizza with typical Gujarati chutney. Definitely worth trying. Highly recommended.
- Surati Locho.
Where :- Das Khaman Shop, Since 1922, Ahmedabad.
The Locho is steamed Gujarati farsan (snack) which originated in Surat. It is made from gram flour. The dish derives it's name from its loose consistency and irregular shape like dumplings. It is somewhat related to Khaman. Unlike Khaman, it is not served in regular shaped cut pieces. It is often seasoned with oil, butter, sev, spices, coriander, onion etc. The legendary shop, Das Khaman since 1922 serves one of the best Locho in Ahmedabad. Highly recommended.
- Khaman.
Where :- Lijjat Khaman, Ahmedabad.
Most of the times, specially in North India, people mistake Khaman as Dhokla. In reality, both of these are different dishes. Khaman is made using besan and Dhokla is made using rice flour. Khaman is yellow in colour while Dhokla is white in colour. Dhokla can be yellow because of the use of tumeric. The yellow dhokla that we people in North India find at most of sweets and snacks shop is in reality khatta Khaman.
- Khandvi.
Where :- Lijjat Khaman, Ahmedabad.
After Khaman & Dhokla, Khandvi is the most popular Gujarat snack. There are many shops in Ahmedabad that serves Khandvi as snacks in the morning. Khandvi is prepared with yogurt and gram flour in a yellowish colour, tightly rolled bite-sized pieces.
- Khakhra.
Where :- Induben Khakhra Wala, Since 1965, Rakanpur, Ahmedabad.
There are many shop selling Khakhra in Ahmedabad but Induben Khakhra Wala is one of the most legendary and famous shop for Khakhras. Khakhra is a thin common cracker in the Gujarati cuisines. People in Gujarat highly consume Khakhra in their breakfast. Khakhra is made from Mat bean, wheat flour and oil.
- Gujarati Samosa.

Samosa is an integral part of indian cuisines and different variations of it are found in different regions of India. In Gujarat, the size of samosas is considerably small and the fillings are very different here, from being normal potato feeling to desi ghee to chana dal. - Fafda.

Fafda is a popular Gujarati snack which is made using besan (Bengal gram flour), oil, carom seeds (ajwain), papad khar and salt. It is eaten with a chutney and raw papaya kachumber. Crisp and light, it is one of those snack that goes well with all the drinks. You will find it in majorities of eateries in Gujarat. But the Fafda at Oshwal on Ashram Road is the best and most famous shop for fafda. They serve freshly made fafdas here.
- Sev Khamani & Noodle Rolls.
Where :- Lijjat Khaman, Ahmedabad
Sev khamani and noodle rolls is one of the most preferred combo in breakfast. Poeple in Gujarat consume this combo in large. A must try and highly recommended combo for all. It is served with tomato sweet sauce and dal chutney. Also try their cheese corn rolls.
- Pizza Dosa.
From :- Nandu Dosa, Near Diwan Pakodi Center, Ahmedabad.
One of the must try dosa when you are in Ahmedabad. In most of the places in India, the dosa are usually served with Sambhar and coconut chutney but the dosa here is served with green chutney and tomato sweet chutney. Do try it. Highly recommended.
- Paratha.
Where :- Om Sai Paratha, Drive In Road, Ahmedabad.
The paratha here is served with some chhole with gravy, tomato sweet chutney, green chutney, onion and lemon. The paratha is made in desi ghee which attracts huge crowd and makes paratha lovers. A must visit place when you are in Ahmedabad. Highly recommended.
- Buttery Pav Bhaji.

The Pav Bhaji stall is a must visit place to enjoy the mouth-watering taste of Buttery Pav Bhaji. The best time to visit Manek Chowk Food Market is during evening.
- Dal Vada.
Where :- Ambika Dal Vada Center, Chandkheda, Ahmedabad.
When you are in Ahmedabad, you have to try Dal Vada at Ambika Dal Vada Center. Their dal vada are the softest and yummiest dal vada and served with freshly chopped onions and fried green chillies mixed with salt. Highly recommended.
- Cadbury Maskabun.

If you are cheese and butter lover, you must try this sandwich. The sandwich was having sliced tomatoes and cucumber with a layer of spicy and sweet tomato sauce. It was topped with loads and loads of cheese with those tangy peanuts and butter on the top with chocolate chips. The price is Rs.250/-
You can also try Cheese Onion Capsicum Grilled Sandwich. It is also tasty. The price is Rs.110/-
- Paneer Momos.

The momos at this place is mouth-watering. Do try their momos and experienced the hot piping taste of the fillings done inside the momos. The momos are served with spicy red chutney and mayonnaise, sprinkled chaat masala on momos. Apart from paneer momos, you can also try veg momos, soya momos and fried momos.
Momos of Amdo's Kitchen, Ahmedabad was also good but this one was better than Amdo's Kitchen.
- Sandwich.

Manek Chowk Food Market is the crowd gathering food market for different types of sandwich, pav bhaji and some of the Gujarati cuisines. The best time to visit the market is in evening.

- Chicken with Tandoori Roti.
Where :- Baghdad Fry Center, Khanpur, Ahmedabad.
The chicken items at Baghdad Fry Center is the best place for all chicken lovers. You can try different varieties of chicken at this place. The best ones is Tandoori Chicken roasted on a coal and served with green chutney, salad and sprinkled with chaat masala. I don't like tandoori chicken much, so I tried this one shown in the picture.
- Mutton.

Bhatiyar Gali near Teen Darwaza is one of the best place for all mutton lovers. There are different varieties of mutton prepared at this place. Among all those items, the Mutton Paya is the best to eat. It taste best when eaten by Tandoori Roti. You can also try out Mutton Nihari.
- Matka Biryani.
Where :- Ratri Bazar, Main Entrance, Ahmedabad.
After having Biryani at this place, you will become a biryani lover. The biryani is served with boondi raita and grated cheese on the biryani from the above. Enjoy the authentic taste of biryani. Highly recommended.
- Veg Tandoori Momos.

- Nutella Chocochip frappe and KitKat chocochip frappe.
Where :- Grace Cafe, Thaltej, Ahmedabad
A must visit place when you are in Ahmedabad for trying different varieties of shakes. The cafe is open having cool ambience and environment. The nutella chocochip frappe and kitkat chocochip frappe is one of the best shakes that I tried there.
You can also try scotch whisky cold coffee, blueberry cheesecake shake, peri peri fries, cheese burst sandwich and cheese corn sandwich. Perfect place with best taste for casual hangouts. Highly recommended.
