Zhang Ziyi was born on February 9th, 1979 (she is 41 years old to this day). She was born in Beijing, China.

Just 17 years old, in 1996; Ziyi entered the prestigious Central Academy of Drama in Beijing,

In her third professional film, the 2000 Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon as “Jen Yu”. This film changed her professional acting career in the Western Hemisphere in Hollywood, California.

The Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon was nominated for 10 Academy Awards.

Because of this one movie, she is acting all over the world. Her first American movie was in 2001 film called Rush Hour 2 as “Hu Li”. Starring Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker. And, this was her fourth professional movie to her credit.

Her success shows all around the world with many different awards and rewards through her films in Asia and also in Hollywood. She has many awards in the Western Hemisphere but her most successful award came in 2005 at the Golden Globe Awards when Zhang Ziyi was nominated for the “Best Actress” - Drama in the Memoirs of a Geisha.

In 2005, Ziyi was listed in “TIME’s” World’s 100 Most Influential People. They called her “China’s Gift to Hollywood”.

In 2010, she was named “Actress of the Decade” by CineAsia. Ziyi previously won the “Star of Tomorrow prize” back in 1999. And, so on.

Because of the success that Zhang Ziyi had, she was considered one of the “Four Dan Actresses” in China. In China, “Four Dan actresses” are the four most bankable young actresses from Mainland China and Zhang Ziyi is one of those four actresses from the whole country of China.

Her latest movie is the 2021 American monster film - Godzilla vs. Kong as “Dr. Ilene Chen”.

Aside from her many success in films on both sides of the world. Zhang Ziyi is married to a Chinese rock musician named Wang Feng and they have two beautiful children. One daughter and one baby son.
