What do people who have only seen the movies not realise about Wonder Woman?

Wonder Woman is incredibly kinky. If you've not read her earliest stories, you just can't even begin to imagine how kinky Wonder Woman actually is.

So, let's talk for a moment about this guy.

I love ya, angel. When you gonna marry me?

Steve Trevor. Love of Diana's life, right?

Oh, buddy. Trevor is a nice guy and all, but did you know that Wonder Woman maintained an all women's bondage sex prison on Paradise Island filled with her defeated supervillainesses? All bound by magic girdles which compelled them to indulge her every whim?

Where the curriculum is startlingly focused on popular ropework techniques commonly used in bondage play? Where spanking is the preferred means of punishment?

That's leaving aside her openly same sex proclivities and activities.

Even going so far as to hold ritualized festivals devoted to hunting, disrobing and nibbling at her fellow Amazons. The sexual implications being hardly subtle.

There is barely a kink left unexplored in those earliest Wonder Woman comics. From bondage, to submission play to more exotic fare like adult baby.

Her earliest books are filled with women on all fours acting like pets. Tentacles. Spanking. And more bondage than you can possibly imagine.

Wonder Woman creator William Moulton Marston was a sexual psychologist, polyamorist, and kink enthusiast who used her books as a vehicle to explore bold new concepts in feminism and female sexuality.

This aspect of her character is somewhat toned down in more modern comics and shows. But never fully disappeared. She is openly gender queer in current continuity and maintains multiple long term lovers on Themyscira. The Lynda Carter show from the 70s heavily featured bondage. With Carter constantly tying up and being tied up by villains. Baroness Paula Von Gunther, reformed queen dominatrix of the Nazis, still occasionally makes appearances.

I don't think the movies really dwell much on this side of Wonder Woman.
