What are some interesting facts about Napoleon?

  1. Wife of Napoleon Bonaparte cheated on him twice. Her name was Josephine.

2. He was 5 feet and 7 inch tall.

3. Napoleon was not a French. He was Corsican. He always hated France as they made the invasion of Corsica.

4. He became the emperor of France in 1804 at the age of 35 years. He made several invasions in Europe. Victory after Victory.

5. He was badly defeated in the Russia. Not by the Russian army but by the Russian winter. He attacked Russia with 6,00,000 soldiers and returned with just 95,000 soldiers.

6. Napoleon resigned from the post of emperor of France in 1814. Defeat in Russia played a major role in this.

7. He ate poison after resigning. But poison couldn't kill him. He was caught and sent to Elba. Throughout the way he remembered that how much in life he gained and all that he lost.

8. He was made the emperor of Elba. There he formed the administration for good governance.

9. Louis 18 was made the emperor of France but he was an incompetent king. He couldn't govern France well.

10. Napoleon was watching all these events from Elba. He made a historic march from Elba to Paris.

11. Some infantry units were deployed to stop Napoleon. Napoleon came ahead and said “If you want to kill your general then here I am”. To which the soldiers shrouded, “Long live the emperor”. Napoleon now entered the city of Paris. He became the emperor of France for the second time in 1815.

12. In 1815, in battle of Waterloo he was defeated by Prussian army and British army. After the defeat he made the resignation from the post of Emperor of France for the second time.

13. He was arrested and sent to the Saint Helena island. In his last days he said, “To die is nothing but to live defeated and without glory is to die every day.”

14. When he came to know about the death of Josephine, he didn’t come out of his room for two days.

15. Napoleon always wanted to die the death of a warrior. He used to say, “If the Christ had not been crucified, He would have not been considered as the God by Humans.”

16. On 5 May 1821, Napoleon died on Saint Helena Island.
