“Broke” as in no money?
No.
Most of the A-list actors receive payouts over years to reduce their tax burdens. So Depp has money coming in monthly, just not enough to keep ahead of his bills, apparently. Unfortunately since his last few films haven’t been the megahits that they were in the past, his days of massive film role paychecks seems to be long behind him, meaning that he won’t be able to have the major spending sprees that he did until a few years ago.
What’s most likely to happen is that Depp’s wealth will settle down to 1/4 or 1/3 of the $650 million USD he has earned over his career. He’ll have to downsize his lifestyle and some of his properties will likely be sold as he can no longer service their upkeep. He definitely won’t be homeless; nor will he miss any meals. He just won’t be as wealthy as he once was, or could now be.
