How would you rank the 5 main members of the white lotus from weakest to strongest in Avatar: The Last Airbender TV show?

Here would be my ranking based on the original five members of the white lotus that we see in TLA:

5. Master Piandao:

A master swordsman, the fact that he’s apart of this elite group of benders and he’s a non-bender is impressive in and of itself. However, this is the very reason I would put him last on the list. He may be brilliant with a sword, but it’s tough to compete when bending isn’t in your arsenal.

4. Master Pakku:

A master water bender, Pakku was the teacher of both Aang and Katara, as well as presumably a good amount of the waterbenders in the Northern Tribe. Unfortunately, we don’t get to see too much of him at work. In the episodes of the Siege of the North, Aang and the Ocean Spirit steal the show, and basically single-handedly take out a fire nation armada led by Admiral Zhao.

3. Jeong-Jeong:

A master firebender and formal admiral in the fire nation, he was Aangs original firebending teacher. Seeing how destructive and corrupt the fire nation had become, he eventually deserted, being replaced by his apprentice, Zhao. Unlike Pakku, we get to see a lot more action with him that I found pretty impressive. We first see him form a massive firewall:

This is without being boosted by Sozins Comet…..

We also see him do some pretty impressive bending when the white lotus began taking back Ba Sing Se:

Boosted with Sozins Comet.

The dude is the real deal. I wish we got to see more of him throughout the series.

2. King Bumi:

The fact that this man looks better at around 110 years of age compared to most 20 year olds is insane. One of the strongest earthbenders of his time, we see him bend serious amounts of earth with just his chin while he’s restrained in metal:

Not to mention he single-handedly took back his city of Omashu in a matter of minutes, granted it was during the solar eclipse, it’s still an impressive feat:

What’s scary about him is I feel like he doesn’t even take most things serious half the time, and he’s still a freaking bad*ss. Similar to Jeong-Jeong, I wish we got to see more screen time with him.

1. General Iroh:

The grand lotus himself. Is this a surprise to anyone honestly? Iroh is arguably one of, if not, the strongest firebender in TLA. Even though we don’t get to see him bend too often throughout the series, when we do, he shows just how tactically sound and impressive he is. The man purposefully pretended to be insane, so that he would be placed in a less secured prison facility, and when the timing was right, broke out of there all on his own.

Not to mention, he’s the finest tea maker in Ba Sing Se, and arguably of all time.

Zuko though……not so much.

Those would be my rankings from worst to best, let me know what you all think in the comments!
