Are there stars whose plastic surgery worked brilliantly?

There are a multitude of stars for whom plastic surgery has been very advantageous. Often it’s the subtle work that goes mostly unnoticed or dismissed as clever makeup or lighting that’s the best kind, but even when there’ve been notable changes made, if it’s good work, it will look sublime every time.

The first that comes to mind is Blake Lively, star of “Gossip Girl” and “The Sisterhood of The Traveling Pants” (SOTTP) as well as being Mrs. Deadpool in real life.

During her SOTTP days she still had her original nose, and even so she was still a pretty girl. By the time her starring role in Gossip Girl turned her into an international superstar she was sporting a brand new slimmer, smaller nose in proportion with her other features and turned her from pretty into exceptionally beautiful.

What a difference just one adjustment to a single feature can make. It was by no means drastic or glaringly modified, which is why her new nose suits her face so well.

In my opinion, the best outcomes of cosmetic surgery is when it is used to make subtle, understated changes that don’t radically alter one’s appearance but instead just enhance what it is already there.

Next in mind would be Kylie Jenner. Now, I am aware that there are a lot of people who condemn her for having so much plastic surgery and especially for it being at such a young age, but all that aside, if we’re just talking about good work done, she’s definitely on the list.

She was a pretty average looking girl in a family of significantly beautiful (whether natural or not is irrelevant) women who were not only mega-famous but who had built their entire brand around their attractive bodies and faces. I mean, one of her sisters is a legit the world’s highest-paid model.

I think we can imagine the sort of pressure and insecurity a girl with cute but relatively ordinary looks would feel when surrounded by these women daily.

So I think she did what any person with that kind of financial privilege would - she fixed it and she fixed it good! It began with the lips and quickly evolved into the face that is known instantly around the world today.

Good work will undoubtedly augment your confidence and self-love. When that face in the mirror correlates to what you’ve always imagined for yourself there can only be positivity in abundance that will empower you to go for what you want now that you have the confidence to fuel it.

Kylie’s new look took the world by storm and allowed to start her own makeup and beauty empire that would dominate the teen and young adult market, allowing her to become a multi-millionaire by the ripe old age of 21 (formerly the world’s youngest billionaire but that’s another story for another day).

And I can guarantee you that her social media popularity, worldwide fame and business prosperity would never have come anywhere near what it is had she still looked like that plain girl with no lips.

Let’s be real, the reason her products sell is because people buy into the fantasy, into the possibility of looking the way she does ie. being seen by others the way she is and reaping those same rewards.

On some level Kylie Jenner knew she needed to take her face to the next level if she was going to shoot for the stars and become remarkable in her already exceedingly accomplished family. They weren’t gonna sleep on her and boy, was she right.

Another great example of some subtle work is Halle Berry, who played Storm in FOX’s “X-Men” movie franchise and won an Oscar in 2002 for her role in “Monster’s Ball”.

Now whilst this could open a whole other conversation about race and Eurocentric beauty standards, I would like to reiterate that this is simply about good work done, and whatever the social ramifications of such surgeries, the proof is in the pudding.

Clearly the width of her nose, especially the bottom, has been slimmed down and the tip of her nose has been lifted and refined.

And of course she was still gorgeous with her original nose, it was cute and gave her a jovial, wholesome appearance of the girl-next-door. The new nose, however, turns those qualities all the way up and further enhances that natural, striking beauty she’s become so well-known for, even well into her 50’s.

And to end of here are some other fine examples of good, subtle work done:

Sandra Bullock (“Speed”, “Ocean’s 8″)

Zac Efron (“Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile”, “Neighbours”)

Jennifer Lopez (“Hustlers”, “Monster-in-Law”)

Priyanka Chopra (“Quantico”, “Baywatch”)

Taylor Lautner (“Twilight”, “The Adventures of Shark Boy & Lava Girl”)

Tyra Banks (former supermodel and host of “America’s Next Top Model”)

What is undoubtedly apparent when it comes to plastic surgery is that less is more - minimal procedures which aim to create subtle but precise alterations can transform anyone from cute and ordinary to stunningly beautiful.
