Which actor or actress has wasted their talent or good will the most?

Kangana Ranaut the most Diva actor in Bollywood. She flaunt and known by her wonderful acting skills, she is controversy Queen ever. I like her so much.

By far one of the most talented actresses in Hindi cinema today. Each of her movies are absolutely worthy of every penny you pay to watch them. She is also pretty, petite and has that infectious smile that will melt any heart.

And yet…

And yet, she has to delve into one controversy after another. It’s a lot like chain smoking… lighting one cigarette from the butt of the previous one. She rakes up one controversy from the burnt out embers of the previous one.

She has all sorts of issues with fellow actors. Sometimes it’s sexual exploitation. Sometimes it’s professional rivalry. Sometimes it’s just being nasty for the sake of it. There seems to be this incessant need for her to be in the news all the time. I’m yet to come across any actor as melodramatic as her. And the sad part is that she doesn’t even need to do all this to garner attention. She is talented enough to pull crowds to the theaters without any such cheap publicity.

Some people appreciate her for her ‘honesty’ and ‘grit’, and say that she is the epitome of what feminism means. That’s all great. But a woman can always express herself in much better ways, IMHO. I don’t believe that the usage of terms like these are very becoming of a woman…

She describes herself as a ‘badass’ and as a ‘today’s woman’. I think I disagree there. To be ‘today’s woman’, how does it become essential to talk obscenities like this? If this is ‘today’s woman’, then what does that make those of us who don’t talk like this? Time travelers from the 15th century??

I still enjoy her movies. But every time any entertainment page carries her so-called ‘explosive’ statements, I just keep scrolling. After a while, the histrionics get totally boring. She is an extremely talented girl. I hope she would concentrate on her career rather than resort to tricks played by good-for-nothing starlets looking to grab some eyeballs before the release of their movie.

Edit (14.11.2017)

A fellow Quoran asked me why I think it’s not ‘becoming of a woman’ to speak thus. This is my reply to her, which I think ought to appended to this answer…

Let me try and explain…

For the record, I staunchly oppose the usage of any kind of expletives in conversation, written or verbal, irrespective of the gender. I belong to a very different era where it was considered to be impolite and unbefitting of civil behavior to speak in such crass language.

Now coming to this particular case… there have been plenty of women in the entertainment industry, even before Kangana Ranaut knew the spelling of ‘Bollywood’, who have boldly spoken their mind on several issues. But none of them have resorted to the usage of such language to put their thoughts across.

In the world where I was raised, women were encouraged to speak their mind… but to never lose their elegance. Femininity isn’t only about having a great body or having a fabulous fashion sense. It is also about the way a woman conducts herself. It’s about what defines her as being classy or trashy.

Look at other very outspoken women…. Vidya Balan, Anushka Sharma, Parineeti Chopra, Nandita Das, Konkona Sen Sharma, Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Sushmita Sen… the list is endless. They have all boldly talked about so many issues. None of them have resorted to such dramatics to express themselves. None of them have stepped down from a certain level of class. This is what I was talking about.

And there is a difference in the way a woman is expected to conduct herself when compared to a man. If a man sleeps around with 20 women, he’s called a ‘stud’. If a woman sleeps around with 20 men, she is called a ‘slut’. How would you justify that? So society has laid down unsaid rules that have been in place for centuries. A man may use cuss words as he pleases. But when a woman does that, she is judged…. not by me. But by society. Who am I to judge anyone unless I am perfect myself?

My only issue with Ms. Ranaut is that she is unnecessarily raking controversies just for the sake of it. If she is not gracing the front pages of some gossip tabloid for a week, she will somehow bring up something else just to see that she is all over the news. She is such a talented actor. I don’t get it why she should do such silly acts. One must not forget that India is country where movie celebrities are often seen as role models. If this is the example that she is setting for a whole lot of young impressionable girls out there who are vying to be like her, then I feel sorry for the generations ahead.
