Daryl Hannah may not be “all but forgotten” but she almost was during the 1990s and early 2000s. She shone the brightest during the 1980s with starring turns in notable films such as Blade Runner, Splash, The Pope of Greenwich Village, Wall Street, and Steel Magnolias.
After that incredible run in the 1980s, her roles became less inspired. In the 1990s there was the pair of Grumpy Old Men films and the HBO remake of Attack Of The Fifty-Foot Woman.
Then along came Quentin Tarantino in the early 2000s who cast her in one of her most memorable roles as the one-eyed assassin, Elle Driver in Kill Bill.
She was under the limelight once again in the 2010s in Netflix’s Sense8.
She’s been heavily involved in both political and environmental activism during the 2000s and posts as ‘DHLoveLife’ on various social platforms. The 2020s might bring good things.
Here’s a DH appreciation thread.
