Some simple ways to improve your life

In his bestselling book Unlimited Power, Tony Robbins writes, "If you want to be successful, all you need to do is find a way to model those who have already." If you're looking for simple ways to improve your life, here are 24 things you can start implementing right away that will make you more productive and amazing.

Plan your day according to your body's energy cycles

Our body has natural rhythms of energy during the day that. With proper monitoring, you can take advantage of times when you have the most energy. Josh Kaufman, author of "The Personal MBA," explains that paying attention to your energy cycles and working accordingly will help you make the most of your available time. To get started, consider the following questions:

* When do you feel most energetic?

* What times of the day work best for certain types of work?

* What do you do to manage your energy during the day?

Take energy naps every day

Do you think naps are for lazy people? Think again. Many studies have reported that a nap as short as 20 minutes can improve alertness, psychomotor performance, and mood. Here are some tips to get the most out of your power nap:

* Plan to take your nap at a good time in your daily sleep-wake cycle; For many people, sometime between noon and 4 p.m. is better.

* Don't sleep too much; a 20-40 minute nap can refresh your day without keeping you awake at night.

* Take 10-15 minutes to fully wake up before resuming a demanding task.

Wake up at the same time every day

Every time I wake up early and have an active morning, I feel so much better and have a more productive day. The problem is that some days I press the snooze button too much. Inevitably, I start those days with failures and a late start. Matt Galligan, CEO of Circa, trained himself to wake up at the same time every day by doing this small but effective experiment: Set an alarm at the same time every morning for 30 days and resist the snooze button. I know it sounds difficult, but the results are amazing. If you have consistent time to stay awake, you will be more alert, have stress-free mornings, and go to work in a calm and focused state. In today's hectic world, that comes in handy!

Drink a lot of water

Why should we drink more water? If you don't drink water, you will die. It's that easy. Your body is made up of approximately 60% water. That means that when we are dehydrated, we are affecting the performance of most of our body. None of our systems work as well without adequate water intake. Drinking enough water and staying hydrated can help you lose weight, reduce joint pain, remove waste and bacteria, prevent headaches, make your skin glow, and improve overall performance. One of the best things you can do after waking up: drink at least 16 oz (500 ml) of water. Water activates your metabolism, hydrates you, helps your body eliminate toxins, fuels your brain, and can even make you eat less.

Avoid energy drinks

Energy drinks are loaded with caffeine and sugar in amounts that are detrimental to overall health. While energy drinks can give you a great deal of energy when you first drink them, in the long run they generally end up making you more tired and can lead to ill effects like heart palpitations, dizziness, and even seizures. There are many other beverages to enjoy like green tea or just coffee.

Don't smoke / quit smoking

One in two lifelong smokers will die from the effects of smoking. The nicotine and carbon monoxide in cigarette smoke increase blood pressure and heart rate and cause stress on the heart and blood vessels. Smoking dramatically increases your chances of having a stroke or heart attack compared to a non-smoker. Smoking makes you 10 times more likely to get lung cancer than someone who doesn't smoke. If you don't smoke, that's great. If you smoke, stop now. Your life will be more wonderful without smoking.
