UPES School of Health Sciences was established in the year 2019 at Bidholi, Uttarakhand. There are two departments under this school: Pharmaceutical Sciences and Allied Health Sciences.

The Under-Graduate programs covered under Pharmaceutical Sciences include Bachelor of Pharmacy, Diploma in Pharmacy, B. Sc. (Clinical Research), M. Sc. (Clinical Research) and M. Sc. (Pharmaceutical Chemistry). The Post-Graduate Programs include M. Sc. (Clinical Research) and M. Sc. (Pharmaceutical Chemistry).

Talking specifically about courses in Pharmacy, the Bachelor of Pharmacy is a four-year undergraduate program, divided into eight semesters aimed at providing in-depth knowledge of synthesis, formulation, therapeutic effectiveness, and testing of medicines.

The curriculum has been formulated to provide holistic learning to the students while covering Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacognosy, Pharmacology and Pharmaceutics, as the core subjects.

The duration of Diploma in Pharmacy is two years, divided into four semesters. It provides an overview of the principles and practices pertinent to the pharmacy.

The department of Allied Health Sciences covers Under-Graduate Programs, which include http://B.Sc. (Food, Nutrition and Dietetics), BBA (Hospital and Healthcare Management), B. Sc. (Microbiology), B. Tech. (Food Technology). The Post-Graduate Programs include M. Sc. (Microbiology), M. Sc. (Nutrition and Dietetics) and MBA (Healthcare Management).

Outside-classroom teaching such as industrial exposures to companies such as Tirupati Pharmaceuticals, sessions with Sun Pharma, Synergy, and Wockhardt fuel the students’ desire for knowledge beyond textbooks and gives them an opportunity to get an exposure to real production setups. The pedagogy at UPES, galvanizing lectures, thought-provoking interactions with faculties and batch-mates, laboratory work, friendly approach of the Dean and other staff towards addressing and solving problems of students and scintillating environ, all contribute towards the comprehensive growth of the students.

Further, UPES recognizes the need for empowering women in order to create gender diverse institutions of higher learning and has hence introduced a special scholarship program this year.
