Top 10 Marvel superhero movie moments that actors did not see coming
(1) Incredible Hulk
- The conversation between General Ross and Tony Stark in the post-credit of the Incredible Hulk was entirely improvised. The dialogue between the two was regarding the Avengers Initiative and was not scripted.
(2) Thor
- In Thor, during the scene where Odin banishes Thor, Anthony Hopkins lets out an unplanned growl which takes both Hemsworth and Hiddleston by surprise.
(3) Captain America: The First Avenger
- The scene where Peggy Carter touches Steve Rogers breast after the Super Soldier Serum does its magic on him was not in the script. Atwell (Carter) reaches out and touches Chris Evan’s breast impetuously.
(4) Avengers
- Robert Downey Jr. would hide snacks around the set during the filming of The Avengers. In the scene where the soon to be Avengers are conversing and discussing Loki, RDJ pulls out blueberries and offers it to the cast. The director kept this scene in the film.
- After the final battle, Iron Man’s suggests that the Avengers should go eat some shawarma. Not only did the filmmakers decide to keep RDJ’s unscripted line in the film, but they even made the post-credit scene of the Avengers eating shawarmas to commemorate it.
(5) Thor: The Dark World
- Hemsworth decided to hang Mjolnr on a coat rack. The director loved the gesture that Thor walks through the front door and hangs his beloved hammer on the coat rack by the door, that he decided to leave it in the final cut.
(6) Guardians of the Galaxy
- The entire scene with Star-Lord winding up his middle finger and saying: “Oh, I’m sorry… I didn’t know how this machine worked.” was improvised by Chris Pratt but James Gunn (the director) loved it.
- As the Guardians prepare for their final mission, Rocket Raccoon says: “We're all standing now. Bunch of jackasses, standing in a circle.” This is one of the most memorable scenes in the film and completely improvised.
(7) Age of Ultron
- Hawkeye’s unscripted moment: “Nobody would know, last I saw him Ultron was sitting on him.” Hawkeye muttered this comment in the scene because he was getting annoyed with Quicksilver.
(8) Ant-Man
- During the filming of Ant-Man, there were a great deal of unscripted scenes. The majority of the dialogues between Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Judy Greer (the ex) and Bobby Cannavale (the cop/the ex’s boyfriend) was improvised. Many of Michael Pena’s (the guy with the lengthy stories) scenes were also improvised.
(9) Doctor Strange
- During a conversation between Strange and Wong, Strange brings up the names of popular celebrities with one word names. Adele, Bono, Eminem, Drake, and Beyonce. This was an improvised moment by Benedict Cumberbatch. This later led to a Beyonce song being featured in the film.
(10) Deadpool
- So many scenes of this movie were improvised and you can see many of the scenes that were left out in the Deadpool bloopers.
- One of the funniest lines in the film was: “You look like an avocado had sex with an older, more disgusting avocado.” The director settled on this after many many different versions improvised by T. J. Miller.
