Temple Destruction By Tipu Sultan
- This is Rajarajeswara temple of Taliparamba (Kannur, Kerala). It is one of the existing 108 ancient Shiva Temples of ancient Kerala. It had two large ancient 7-storey Gopurams They were destroyed by Tipu Sultan with artillery. Ruins lie scattered all over the place.

- Once upon a time, Wayanad was a rich, prosperous, beautiful and peaceful region. Tipu Sultan's invasion changed everything. We see ruins everywhere. This destroyed "Anantanatha temple" is known as "Sultan's Battery” since Tipu destroyed it and used it as an ammunition store.
- Today, this is Jami Masjid. Once upon a time, it was Venkateshwara temple of Penukonda, the second capital of Vijayanagara. Tipu Sultan demolished the Gopura and converted the temple into Mosque. However, carvings of Hanuman and Narasimha can still be seen.
