What is it like to have a six pack?

Having a sixpack has no physical benefit and it does not make a man more succesful with women. Unless you crave attention from the looks- and status obsessed, wrong kind of lady. A sixpack is not a nr.1 sign of having abs, being fit or being strong . It's simply one of the signs of having (too) little body fat, together with other signs like a skinny face or a little neck, which I find not attractive on a man. It makes them weak, vulnarable and prone to injury in my eyes.

That is also why men in more rough contact sports like wrestling, rugby, and ice-hockey (I call them bear-sports😊 ) have huge muscles covered in a healthy amount of body fat.

Before you all start: I am not an overweight apologist: I am a slim/athletic built woman with size 4US/ 34EU, and 21% bodyfat, and I am a sports -enthusiast, and have always fancied strong and healthy men who somehow never needed to have a sixpack. Picture of a rugby player attached is absolutely perfect to me.

When I hear my 12 year old son and his friends already talking about six-packs and about what not to eat to get one, I hope this whole six-pack nonsens goes away a.s.a.p.

Why A Six Pack Doesn't Always Mean Strong Abs “Six-pack abs by themselves are not real indicators of anything except for low body fat levels.”

Update 22 August 2020:

I would like to thank you all for the likes! I would also like to add that there is nothing wrong with having sixpack abs. You might develop them “by accident” when you work out, or as a by-product of practicing for something else in sports. I am merely critisizing the extreem low body fat norm which comes with the sixpack, as if it's the holy grail of fitness and attractiveness. This stigma results in a lot of overtrained, always hungry young people with wrinkly, hollow cheeks, sunken eyes and a tiny wrinkly neck before their mid-thirties, but “ hey, I have huge veins and a sixpack”. I have seen these dudes in my gym, no fun to look at. All I think is “hope my son and his friends never come to this".

So again: if a person asks me: what is it like to have a sixpack?

  1. It is not a sign of physical strength, but of extreem low bodyfat.
  2. For most women , you will not become more attractive once you have a sixpack.
  3. So live a fit, happy & healthy, life. If this brings you a sixpack easily, well you have a sixpack. If it doesn't, you don't miss out on anything: relationship wise and mustle-wise . Enjoy your summer!!
