INDIA is one of the developing country in South Asia with around 1.35 billion population. With a diverse and complex culture. India is the most populous democracy in the world. Let’s see some interesting unknown facts about India:

1. Most Visited Spot On the planet

Granted by the World Book of Records, the Golden Temple of Amritsar is the most visited spot on the planet with more than one lakh devotees running at the holy place each and every day.

2. Roopkund – The Skeleton Lake

Locally known as the mystery lake or the skeleton lake, Uttarakhand’s Roopkund is scandalous for human skeletons found at the base of the lake and in the encompassing regions.

3. Today around 40% of doctors and 12% of scientist in America belongs to India. Moreover around 37% of scientists in NASA belongs to India.

4. 80% of European and US outsourcing is done in India.

5. The first nation to expend sugar

India was the first nation to create extraction and decontaminating systems of sugar.

6. Until the 17th Century, India was the richest country in the world

7. Kumbh Fair

Every 12 years in India, a Kumbh fair is organized, where people of all religions are gathered, in this sense this is the world’s largest fair. The 2011 Kumbh Mela was the largest gathering of people with over 75 million pilgrims. The gathering was so huge that the crowd was visible from space.

8. India has the biggest film industry producing about 1,300 movies each year.

11. In 1963 ISRO (Indian search and research organization) made the lightest rocket it was wondering light that it was transported with bicycle to launch station.

12. World’s hotest chilli “Boot jolokia” is produced in India.

13. Shampoo was invented in India in 4th century B.C.

14. 11% of the total gold in the world is in India, mostly it is in the form of jewelry.

15. World’s largest and one of the oldest banyan tree is present in Andhra Pradesh, India which is 550 year old and covers an area of around 2.1 hectare with 1100 branches.

16. ‘Shani signapur’ is a village in India where there are no doors in any house.

17. Indian railways employs more than 1.3 million of employees which is largest by any organization or company in the world.

18. More than 90 countries purchase software from India.

19. India has the world’s largest wholesale market.

20. Indian movie ‘3 idiots’ earned 76.8 billion rupee where as ‘Avatar’ collected only 2.8 billion rupee at box office.

21. India made the world’s cheapest car with costing around ₹100,000 or $1,350.

22. Science day in Switzerland is dedicated to Ex-Indian President, APJ Abdul Kalam.

The father of India's missile programme had visited Switzerland back in 2006. Upon his arrival, Switzerland declared May 26th as Science Day.

23. Water on the moon was discovered by India

In September 2009, India's ISRO Chandrayaan- 1 using its Moon Mineralogy Mapper detected water on the moon for the first time.

24. The wettest inhabited place in the world.

Mawsynram, a village on the Khasi Hills, Meghalaya, receives the highest recorded average rainfall in the world. Cherrapunji, also a part of Meghalaya, holds the record for the most rainfall in the calendar year of 1861.

25. India has most number of two vehicle riders.

26. More than 150,000 people die every year by road accident in India which is more than any country.

27. The Temple of Rats.

It happens just in India! The Karni Mata Temple in Rajasthan is home to a great many rodents whom travelers consider to be their ancestors and love, making it one of the most unusual attractions of India and furthermore one of the weirdest facts about India also.

28. India is the world's second-largest English speaking country.

India is second only to the USA when it comes to speaking English with around 125 million people speaking the language, which is only 10% of our population. This is expected to grow by quite a margin in the coming years.
