Do you know India preparing to lay the world's highest rail line on China border?

Yes, it’s true that In the wake of the India-China Border Tension with China, the Indian Railways has given speed to the plan to lay the track to Leh-Ladakh. Work has begun on a plan to connect New Delhi and Ladakh region to the world's highest railway line. This line will pass through the India-China border. After the completion of the Bilaspur-Manali-Leh Rail Project, the distance from Delhi to Leh will be only 20 hours. Now it takes 40 hours to cover this distance.

The height of this railway line will be 5,360 meters above sea level. At present, the height of the track laid up to Tibet is the highest in China. It is at an altitude of 2,000 meters above sea level. It will cost about Rs 83,360 crore to build this 465 km line. This project will also include 74 tunnels. To identify the control point, the primary survey work of 475 km of the total rail route has been completed.

89 locations with 184 control points have been identified at important locations of bridges, tunnels, stations. At the same time, the construction team has also completed leveling work at one of the world's highest passes with low temperatures and low oxygen levels.

83,360 crores will be spent

The proposed expenditure of the Bilaspur-Manali-Leh railway line is Rs 83,360 crore. It will be a 465 km long line. A little can be equated with the Qinghai-Tibet rail line because this line in China is also at an altitude of 2 thousand meters above sea level.

51 percent route will pass through tunnels

The new rail line will provide connectivity to the hilly areas of Bilaspur, Sundernagar, Mandi, Manali, Keylong, Koksar, Darcha, Sarchu, Pang, Debarring, Upshi, and Kharuto Leh. 51 percent of this railway line will pass through tunnels. The longest tunnel will be 13.5 km and the total length of the tunnels will be 238 km.

There will be 30 stations near the India-China border

There will be 30 stations near the India-China border on this line to be built in Ladakh. The line connecting Bilaspur and Leh will pass through Sundernagar, Mandi, Manali, Keylong, Koksar, Darcha, Upshi, and Karu. All stations will be from Himachal Pradesh, Jammu, and Kashmir.

This railway line will help the security forces greatly. Also, with the increase in tourism in the Ladakh region, there will be rapid development of the area. If the central government gives this project the status of a national project, then most of the funds will have to be given to it. This will increase the chances of construction of the line soon.
